Hey guys, we made our goal! Can you believe it?!? 918 backers! I have all sorts of thoughts this morning about micro-communities and crowd-sourcing. I think we offered, are still offering, some awesome rewards. But the impression I get is most people contributed because they were interested in being part of something. If that's not why you contributed that's OK. And it can be a mix of things, like wanting to participate and a big fat box of books.
Obviously, we set the goal of $85,000 not because we thought it was a good budget for a complicated feature film (especially after fees from kickstarter and Amazon and expenses take us down to $70,000) but because that was the most we thought we could raise.
I'm a little in shock and so grateful to all of you. With a little time left we're going to try to raise another $10,000. It's going to be really tight no matter what. If we can raise more it could add a shooting day, coverage, and more realistic locations. We're going to make the movie no matter what the budget is, but more money will certainly help.
