Achuophobic is a concept record about an abnormal fear of the dark, each song on this record represents a relationship with that darkness within the different layers of our lives. Lyrically and musically Achluophobic represents a step forward for Disillusion Effect. This release is far more progressive than Behold the Inevitable Beast, from the incorporation of jazz and blues, to the narrative flow of the song structures themselves. A concentrated effort that promises to be the most dynamic and melodic material to date while maintaining the familiar DE aggression. The instrumental ebb and flows combined with vibrantly dark lyricism ensure a cinematic listening experience.
This record is the final collaboration with founding guitarist Jimmy Rhodes and also features new members Ed Green (guitar) and Aubra Cole (drums). The new blood contributing to the recording process for the first time provided fresh perspective and influences not yet explored in DE. The band once again has turned to the services of producer Jay Hannon from 7over8 Studios. The familiarity and chemistry between Hannon and the band help create a working relationship allowing for the finest DE release to date.
Much like Behold the Inevitable Beast, the tracking was completed within the DE camp with Jimmy Rhodes and Ed Green splitting producer duties. This is where we need your help friends, your donations assist DE with all production, physical duplication, and digital distribution costs associated with getting this record out as soon as possible. The $3000 we're looking to generate through your generous contributions are only the tip of the ice berg, but financially puts the band over the top to make this release happen in 2017. DE is looking to generate six times the amount of revenue than our first crowdfunding campaign. With exclusive merchandise items and personalized collectors pieces, we are offering more items than ever with our second Kickstarter endeavor. We appreciate all the support shown to this project since it's inception in 2012 and we promise to deliver the album this band has always wanted to make. Thank you, we love you, and METAL ON!!!
Risks and challenges
We originally wrapped up recording this record June, 2016. Unfortunately due to some errors on our behalf a majority of the vocal tracking and drum programming wasn't of an acceptable quality. As disparaging as the news was, we instantly upgraded our equipment and began to start the journey over again. We anticipate all vocal and drum tracking will be wrapped up by the end of July 2017. In spite of the setbacks, the material has had the chance to grow for the better. Everyone is now on the same page with what needs to be done and we look forward to this process coming together quickly. Updates regarding tracking completion will be posted as progress occurs. We intend on being 100% transparent with our progress on this record. We're on the home stretch and we're incredibly excited to share this material with you \m/Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
