For all New Backers, here's our New Project URL, please donate here:
When you paste URL link, it should end after it says ( amani-n )
Greetings one and all, we have written to Kickstarter and they have advised us on how to proceed with a methodology that builds on what we have done thus far and not lose out due to the approaching timeline which would obviously null and void the existing bid.
We have created a new bid which we are now able to bring online and inform all Backers of the new link. We are now encouraging all our Backers to transfer their Pledges to the new bid as the days are running down. We are now going to cancel the old Kickstarter bid and proceed with a more realistic timescale. Nothing else has changed and the Showcase Event day is the same as previously listed.
It's our first time with Kickstarter and we are learning how the whole thing works, thanks for your continued support, so once again here's our new project URL:

‘The Wall’ is an urgent and much needed interdisciplinary arts response to issues surrounding inclusion, young people, gun crime, health and wellbeing in Lambeth conceived and directed by Amani Naphtali.
"Its not just about a show, its about intervening positively in young peoples lives"
‘The Wall’ is the first phase of a series of Inclusive, Interdisciplinary Arts workshops and performance opportunities for young people perceived to be at risk, from Brixton and the surrounding areas which is hosted by Brixton Inclusive. Starting in mid February 2013, this phase will culminate in an inclusive, interactive and informative installation and performance event at the end of May 2013. The project will take place within a large garage at our office space which we are redeveloping into a new, inclusive and accessible Youth theatre venue. The participants will explore issues around gun crime and related topics in order to create the artwork and event. We will directly work with at least 30 young people who have been excluded from school; those with low self-esteem and those who partake in risky behaviour and in particular, Boys and young men.
‘The Wall’ will be a site-specific art installation, which will take the form of a large multimedia ‘mosaic’ panel created by young people, installed within our base at 336 Brixton Road.
We use a variety of art forms to encourage physical co-ordination, employing contemporary styles to develop life skills, improve articulation, self-confidence and motivation. Theatre role-play, spoken word and storytelling will enhance literacy promote positive self-esteem and emotional wellbeing. As opposed to exclusion; our workshops emphasize breaking down barriers, team cohesion, equality and non-judgmental behavior; cultivating young people's understanding of difference, and acceptance no matter what ability. This project will encourage the students within the School and also impact across the borough.
*********Big shout out to all of our supporters, and a special thanks to all those involved in our successful award by The Lambeth Young People’s Health Small Grants Scheme and the NHS. This money will help young people in Lambeth to realise the dream of performance both onstage and more importantly in life. Brixton Inclusive, putting Young People first. PLEASE PLEASE do not hesitate for a second, give now and help us cross the Pledge line. The Next Generation Needs You!*********
We are very interested in getting London wide and Local Lambeth based businesses and Community Organisations involved in The Wall and so any company or local organisation that donates £60 or more can have their logo permanently displayed within the venue.
The Project Video and The Wall Logo was designed and edited by Haile, aged 14 years Haile is a Youth Advisor and dancer with Brixton Inclusive.

Risks and challenges
There are many risks in taking on a performance project such as The Wall.
Firstly we will be working with young people who are at risk and suffering from many forms of deprivation. The first thing is to have a safe and secure environment for the young people to work in. To build a positive atmosphere of cooperation and self confidence.
Keeping the project Inclusive, making sure that disabled and disadvantaged young people have equal access to the project. Avoiding all areas of conflict and working through challenging behavior and turning it into something positive.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
