A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Livesglass - Your Pocket Sized Greenhouse
Research shows that having potted plants in offices or home can reduce fatigue, stress, dry throat, headache, cough and dry skin.
Livesglass is inspired by nature. Being working in a stressful environment myself, the initial idea is to introduce greenery to the modern workplace or home for stress relief and well-being.
Livesglass is an innovative device, it provides a low-maintenance, fuss-free way for individuals to have plant life in their environment. A concept inspired by the hourglass, Livesglass is also a metaphorical reminder of how important it is to protect our environment.
How it works:
The Livesglass planter irrigates itself through drip irrigation; simply water your Livesglass via the mini water tank located at the top. The water slowly filters into the flowerpot, so there’s no need to worry over excessive or insufficient watering. The opening at the bottom enables oxygen to be produced as a result of photosynthesis, which is then emitted for air purification.
Livesglass is more than a modern-look decor for your home or office, it also provides a stress-free air purification system.
Thanks to the specially designed valve system in Livesglass, a full tank of water can last up to 7 days, so there’s no need to worry if you travel overseas or are away from home.
New Features of new Livesglass:
1: removable outer display cylinder – the outer glass cylinder has now been separated from the main hourglass inner planter. It designed to display a full-grown plant.
2: 3D curved glass outer display cylinder - We implemented 3D curved glass technique to achieve a seamless join between outer cylinder display glass and inner hourglass shaped planter. 3D curved glass requires the finest handcraftsmanship as it is the toughest verrerie in the glass making field.
3: Interchangeable water valve – due to popular demand, we are proud to introduce interchangeable valve for Livesgalss, so now you can customize water dripping speed on the variety of plants.
4: Float ball sensitive TPU valve - Slow and consistent water dripping is always a tough mission, a newly interchangeable valve in an incredible miniature form was required. Inside this TPU pressure sensitive valve, containing a 1mm diameter stainless steel ball bearing which allows water to flow consistently regardless of the quantity of remaining water in the glass.
5: Wooden display base has also been redesigned to maximize Livesglass internal planting space.
Our team has put a lot of effort into this product and we are looking forward to your support. We feel it is very important to ensure the final product is as functional and elegant as it can be, and our manufacturing goal has been to achieve the finest handcraftsmanship possible. In order to share our gratitude to our supporters, we would like to distribute Livesglass at a favorable price from AUD$58 per unit, which includes free shipping worldwide. We want all our supporters who enjoy Livesglass to have one in their home or office.
We are hoping to raise AUD$50,000 on Kickstarter as there is a 3000 unit minimum run required. The funds will also be spent on tooling for mass production.

Possible Design Changes:
We are still refining Livesglass to achieve the best possible user experience.
Craftsmanship (Truly Handmade):
Each Livesglass planter is handcrafted with the most exquisite handcraftsmanship. Making one piece requires a state of the art craftsmanship to achieve a better finish. It also means each individual Livesglass has its own unique characteristics. Each Livesglass planter must go through over 20 different manufacturing processes before it reaches the end user.
Our goal is to ensure the entire production line set up is completed by October 2017. By late-November 2017, we would like to commence full production, and if everything is in order, we will immediately dispatch the Livesglass to our backers. Dispatching Livesglass to end-users on time is very important for us.
Testing is crucial for us to identify any issues with Livesglass. Our team has conducted many trials in growing various plants in Livesglass to confirm its primary function. However, various weather conditions may cause different results. We will continue further testing to gain more information which will be posted on our website.
Risks and challenges
We are currently undergoing some refinements, and our team is currently liaising with our factory to make sure we deliver Livesglass to end users at anticipated delivery times. There are some challenges which may cause possible delays, but the main design is confirmed and pre-production proofs have been approved. If we receive sufficient contribution from this campaign for a production run, we hope to dispatch Liveglass promptly.
