6 months on
It's now been just over 6 months since we recorded the album and we have come to the final moments of mixing before the mastering process begins.
Whilst mixing the album we have been choreographing our ballet which we will be filming at Lissan House at the end of July.
Lissan House was built in the 1600s by my ancestors and it is a real thrill to be able to film our Imagination of a Child ballet there. Particularly as I have many childhood memories of my own associated with what my great aunt referred to as, this golden place.
Our film will take place in the house and grounds of Lissan and will feature our three dancers, Georgia, Nicci and Lisa performing choreography inspired by classic childhood games and personal stories/memories from each of our childhoods woven into the dance.
The finale to the film takes place in the Lissan Ball Room. This will certainly be a special moment because the man responsible for the construction of the ballroom was one of my ancestors, Sir Thomas Staples, who loved music & dance. He built the ballroom as an addition to the house in order to put on musical recitals and dancing. The Ballroom is a magnificent space for our dancers to perform in and I hope he would have been pleased to see us using it for our Jazz Ballet Film.
We're thrilled with how the album is sounding and we hope to bring you more updates very soon as we move ever closer to being able to reveal some of the music we recorded and as we continue our preparations for the film.
