Less than a month to go to studio time.....
It's now just under a month until we are into State of the Ark studios to record our album. After a lot of hard work this year from all the musicians the band is sounding rather good and we all can't wait to be working in the studio.
Each of these videos is from our last sectional rehearsals for strings and rhythm section.
As we're drawing closer to recording the album we have also been excited to be starting work on the film. James Crosland-Mills and I have been working closely together to plan the format of the film over the last few months.
Details at the moment are a bit secret but what I can tell you is that the film is going to feature 3 dancers and a large portion of it will be filmed at Lissan House in Northern Ireland.
Lissan is an enchanting country house at the heart of a 267 acre demesne nestling in a prime location in the valley of the Lissan Water. Established in the early 17th Century and home to the Staples family for almost 400 years it was gifted in trust in 2006 for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone.
Lissan has always been a place of creativity, childhood and imagination and it is particularly special to me that we will be filming there as I enjoyed many childhood trips there myself to visit my great aunt whilst she was living there.
We took a trip to Lissan last month to plan what we might do with the place and all of us were thrilled at the prospect of filming the dance sequences there. It is such a fantastic opportunity and setting to further bring the dance and the music to life.
More information coming soon on the music and the film in the lead up to September and also expect updates from our time in the studio.
