It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Jonathan Allen is going to be working with The Forgotten Fairground Project this September for our album recording sessions.

Jonathan has a worldwide reputation for his work recording and mixing film soundtracks, classical music, game soundtracks and a wide variety of other album projects.

He has worked at Abbey Road Studios for 23 years and in that time he's worked on hundreds of projects covering a wide variety of music and artists. Many of those projects have been nominated for and won industry prizes from Grammys to Gramophone Awards. In 2013 Jonathan received a BAFTA sound award for recording and mixing the soundtrack to the film of the musical Les Miserables.

His film projects include titles such as Return of the Jedi Special Edition, Michael Jackson’s This is It, The Hours, Toy Story 3 and recently the new Matteo Garronne film Tale of Tales (composed by Alexandre Desplat). Jonathan has recorded and mixed for composers such as George Fenton, Alexandre Desplat, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Joel McNeely, Maurice Jarre and John Williams.

Jonathan has worked on hundreds of albums including over thirty with the conductor Antonio Pappano (including the recent release of AIDA for Warner Classics) and recently has produced and engineered the new album, Blackbird, for the classical guitarist Milos. His albums cover a diverse cross section of music making from classical albums for all the major labels, jazz albums with Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orchestra and pop albums with Laura Mvula and a remix of Freddie Mercury’s album Barcelona. Jonathan also broadcasts live to cinemas and produces and engineers Blue Ray releases for the Royal Opera House, London.

Everyone in The Forgotten Fairground Project is very excited to be working with Jonathan. Our album is going to be in very good hands.
