UPDATE #4: Last chance to own a copy of Norman & Collectors Behind the Film Art Book: This will only be available to early Kickstarter backers.

UPDATE #3: How we plan to tackle the visual effects.Adam Miller, the visual effects artist for Norman, talks briefly about how he plans to tackle the effects shots needed to complete Norman.
UPDATE #2: Stretch goals announced!
Any additional funding will go towards making this film better than we could have possibly imagined. We will be filming some awesome new scenes to help develop Norman's world such as making new props and costumes for extras. The additional funding will help with travel expenses for the cast and crew as well as several additional audio plugins.
UPDATE #1: Successfully funded in under 48hrs!
We have a number of stretch goals in mind including filming a few extra scenes that weren't possible to do before. Keep on sharing and donating because every extra dollar raised will go towards making the film even better!

Norman is a feature-length sci-fi film about a time traveler and his A.I. companion. Norman becomes trapped and isolated in the past, jeopardizing life in both the past and the future. He must invent a way back to the future before the world collapses.

Norman was filmed through March 2012 - November 2013. 98% percent of the entire film's scenes are shot and edited. I have put every dollar I could spare of my own to get my film where it is at, but now is where I need help.
One of the main characters in Norman is an Artificial Intelligence companion called A.N.I. Without good working visual effects to bring this character to life, my film simply cannot work.

Every dollar that is pledged will go directly toward these three areas of post production to complete my film.
- Paying for a full-time visual effects artist to complete the scenes in Norman.
- Plane tickets for flying out actors for final voice-over work.
- Audio effects plugins for sound effects and mixing.

My brother, Jonah, is a California-based Sound Designer. From recording cars for the Fast & Furious, to working alongside Peter Berg and Damon Lindelof for the sound of HBO's The Leftovers, my brother will be a huge help in bringing Norman's world to life.
Here are some screenshots from what's been shot so far.

Over the course of two years, I have collected over 7 hours of behind-the-scenes footage. One of the most complicated scenes required a completely custom science lab built from scratch using PVC pipe, plastic tarps, help from friends, and 100% ingenuity.
I am looking forward to releasing production diaries throughout this coming year that showcase behind the scenes clips from the making of the film.

Risks and challenges
My film is 98% shot and in the can. My crew and I will be taking care of all the editing, sound design, graphic design, etc. I decided to open this kickstarter because the one thing I am completely unable to do on my own is the visual effects required to pull the film together. These effects will enable the A.I. companion A.N.I to work visually and also add the necessary elements to a climactic battle scene, including bullet trails, blood splatter, explosions, etc.
Even if this fundraiser isn't completely funded, I won't stop here. I can't spend two and a half years and not finish the film. I will eventually make this happen if it comes down to learning how to create the visual effects myself from scratch. Honestly though, this is something I need someone who has years of previous experience to do in order to pull it off well and to make the effects completely convincing and photorealistic.
Thank you so much for any help that you can provide.
I truly thank you!
