About

View the first episode in full: The Graveyard Shift

The driving forces behind this project:

Ollie Would (Director and co-writer)
Ollie Would has been writing and making short films for the last 10 years. Everything from narrative driven films to music videos and everything else in between. He is also a freelance filmmaker and enjoys catering to client specifications.

Jay Robertson (Co-writer and actor)
Jay has been writing and performing comedy for almost 10 years, and acting for 5 years. Jay's official job title is - Actor/Comedian/Writer/Musician which sounds so much better than unemployed!

Jeff Sleeman (Producer and 1st AD)
Jeff is a Devon based actor who has written two short plays and appeared in a variety of stage film and TV productions including Poirot and Casualty, not to mention a memorable episode of Crimewatch UK (best not to mention that!).

Josh Castree (Director of Photography)
Josh is an actor and film maker from Devon with ten years experience of making and producing short films as well as teaching film studies at the Pauline Quirke Film Academies in Torquay, and Leeds.

Alex White (Sound Recordist)
Alex is a Devon based creative who has collaborated with film makers including CWA Films, Emberlense and Diddy Films in a variety of roles from director of photography to prop sausage wiper and everything in between.

Alex Stewart (Camera Operator)
Alex has worked closely with Josh Castree on a number film projects over the years both in front of and behind the camera. In the first Graveyard Shift episode he was both camera operator and body double for the Yeti’s feet (though not at the same time!).

Lizzie Corbett (Make Up)
Lizzie Studied media make up at Somerset College and trained in wig making, hair styling, body painting, prosthetics and mould making. Her creative talents made the Yeti the most talked about character in episode 1.

What this Kickstarter project will help us achieve

We’re raising funds to make the second ‘mini episode’ of The Graveyard Shift. The next one will feature the same cast as they hunt down a ruthless murderer causing carnage through Millieways.

Money raised will go to meet basic production costs – modest fees to the actors and crew, provision of costumes and props, camera and lighting equipment etc.

Risks and challenges

Having successfully made the first episode with very limited resources but loads of enthusiasm, a very dedicated and talented cast and crew and a lot of hard graft, we’re very confident of being able to build on our experience to make a truly awesome sequel. Things can always go wrong – the store might catch fire, the director might be abducted by aliens or one of our lead actors get the call from Hollywood- but we’ve got the location, the right people and the skills to make it happen. And when this one is done, there will be further episodes to follow and one day……a TV series!
