Frequently Asked Questions
These are used in two ways: exchanging with an existing monster of the same level (Minion, Elite, Boss) or adding to the total spawn pool for that mission.
Stretch Goal and Monster Pack monsters can be exchanged for any monster in the mission of the same type (Minion, Elite, Boss). Be aware that Unique monsters are a bit tougher than their standard counterparts, so adding in a Daughter of Typhon in place of a Corrupted Human will increase the difficulty. Our recommendation is to mix the monsters with the default ones for any given mission. This increases the variety and can challenge even the most experienced of squads.
Add (Hardcore, What Are You Doing With Your Life):
The game comes with enough figures to set what we consider to be the default difficulty, which is actually pretty tough. However, if your squad is getting crazy good and you're looking for more of a challenge, you can add more figures to the Spawn Pool to increase the difficulty. And it will. Oh, yes. Note, if you add more than one boss, you can spawn them either sequentially (the second one after the first is defeated) or you can spawn them at the same time. If you spawn them at the same time and win, send pictures :)Last updated:
The Battle Pack does not include the multi-squad maps, Stalag V and Red Sands or the duplicate monster family figures to support them. That game mode required 8 heroes and an awful lot of time to play, which made it a very niche item. We decided to remove it from the second printing to streamline the battle pack and reduce the price.
On the flip side, we've added two new items to the Battle Pack: the new Recon Event Deck and the Operation:Harbinger mission pack.Last updated:
This pledge rewards the stretch goals if you spend $50 or more on Add Ons. If you already have the core set and want to grab the stretch goals, this may be the pledge for you.Last updated:
There will! We will be using Backerkit and you can make changes to your pledge when it goes live. This is where you can select your Add-Ons or even change your pledge selection entirely.Last updated:
The short answer: all you need is the core set, and you can use any of the add-ons. Here's what each of them does:
Recon Deck Pack: These are new event cards that are shuffled into your existing events to add new surprises to searching those spawn points.
Operation:Harbinger: This is a new multi-mission operation. It is designed to use monsters from the Monster Packs, but you can play these missions even if you only have the core set. Core set monster substitutions are included for each mission.
Team Challenge Pack: This is a set of 4 missions with special rulesets and recon decks designed to provide unusual and interesting challenges for experienced squads.
Team Competition Pack: This is a set of 4 missions with special rulesets and recon decks that allow the heroes to compete against each other. Two of the missions are based on points and the other two are survival.
Mission Generator: This pack generates random missions using whatever expansions and add-ons that you have.
Monster Packs (A,B,C,D): These packs provide new monsters that can be added to any mission. They can be substituted 1 for 1 with the same base class of monster, meaning minions for minions, elites for elites, and bosses for for bosses. We recommend a mix of add-on and base creatures rather than a full replacement in order to get the most variety and challenge into the mission :)
Variant Hero Packs Delta and Echo: These are variant hero figures. The non-specialist figures use the same hero decks as the base heroes, but the specialists do have different bonuses from the base game, which are listed on their cards.
Spawn Point Pack: These are fancy plastic spawn points to dress up your battlefields :) They work with the existing tokens and are large enough to stand a hero on when securing them. There's also a clever dip in them to make flipping the tokens easy.
Extra Hero Decks: This pack contains all of the hero action cards in the game, including all of the add-ons and stretch goals. This has a couple of uses: getting all of the hero cards even if you only have the core set, and also allowing you to run two of the same hero role in a mission. For example, you could have two demolitions heroes each with their own deck and different upgrade cards. You can also use the additional decks to run more than 4 heroes, but please be aware that this does impact the difficulty of the game.
Extra Dice: Who doesn't love more dice? Contains the full set that comes with the core.
Big Box of Miniatures: Think of this like a Reaper Miniatures pack. It contains figures only, with no cards or other game components.
Note that this does not come in the battle pack pledge. If you are getting the battle pack, you will already have all of these figures, so there is no need to purchase it separately.Last updated:
