Q. What are benefits for funding this campaign?
A. By backing a kickstarter campaign, you financed a development project.
Your benefits are not only helping the product come to light but ensuring
that you get the product before regular customers at a favourable price
as well as discounts on future purchases.
Q. When will the product ship?
A. We cannot give an exact shipping date as we still need to confirm that
everything works as expected during the beta testing phase.
If any unexpected problems crop up during the testing it would delay shipping,
as we would need to address the problems before release.
If beta testing goes smoothly, we expect to ship LOONCUP in Q2 of 2018.
Q. How do I change my shipping address?
A. When we are close to shipping we will ask everyone to confirm their shipping addresses.
You will be able to change your shipping address at that time.
Can we get an update that doesn't involve a apology or details about refunds?
When can we expect the product? What's the ETA? What are we getting for still staying on as funders?
Just requested a full refund. I was cautiously optimistic when we began receiving quasi-weekly updates earlier this year. Two years of waiting is long enough... I've given up.

I understand you do not endorse my comments that include domain owner registration information for the looncup domain name.
You assert in your message to me that these details are "private" and politely ask that I remove them.
First, while I realize this may come as somewhat of a surprise to you, domain owner registration information, such as I have provided in the comments, is the antithesis of private.
In fact, as a practical legal matter (as determined at the state and international level) a domain registration is an inherently public and published document. Your domain registrar made your info public to anyone interested in viewing the information at the moment they published it on the internet as part of your purchasing transaction for a domain registration. * (see footnote)
To put all that in simpler terms, your domain name registration information is 100% public. It is not and never has been private.
Secondly, creating a Kickstarter project in which you solicit and accept funds on your promise to deliver tangible goods by a specified time in the future, as a practical business and legal matter, specifically places a burden of disclosure upon you, at least as it concerns the backers of the project. Anonymity in such situation is not a reasonable expectation.
To put it in simpler terms, you have no rational expectation of anonymity once you promise people tangible goods in exchange for their money and neither deliver the goods or provide refunds for a period of approximately 2 years.
Your project backers have every right to know who you are and how to contact you.
But even if I was inclined to comply with your request that I remove the aforementioned comments it is not possible for me to do so. Backers have no capability to delete or edit comments once they are posted.
The only way you can have my comments removed are to personally contact Kickstarter and ask them to remove them for you.
*The only situation in which domain owner registration is not automatically public is when the registrant takes active measures to obscure such registration, by purchasing a proxy services from their domain name registrar or 3rd parties doing so for specific sums, but this can be overcome by subpoena in instances where legal actions require disclosure, either solely for court purposes or more broadly to the public, in order to properly proceed.** In other words, even a totally private registration may be unmasked under certain circumstances and the hurdle to such unmasking is rather low, particularly in business situations in which funds are exchanged for goods or the promise of goods.
** Obviously, such mundane approaches are ineffective on The Onion router, aka Tor or the darkweb, but the unmasking of onion addresses remains relatively trivial for certain state and private actors.

I've now messaged you multiple times, attempted to contact you on your e-mail (the e-mail bounced back) and you've not replied at all. I feel that I speak for most of us when we say that we understand delays. They happen. Especially with something of this nature. What we are all upset with is the lack of updates and when we do get updates its the same old song and dance. Surely as a company you understand our hesitation to trust that this isn't a scam when you've done nothing to prove us wrong. I've reached out to kickstarter and urged them to address this as such, a scam. I realize none of us will be getting our money back but you should be removed from this platform to prevent any further damage to the kickstarter reputation and reputation of many projects that actually follow guidelines of kickstarter.
Preserving your menstrual data history.
Will I lose my data history if I change to a new LOONCUP? No.
One of the main benefits of the LOONCUP is to gather a history of your menstrual data.
The data history will be preserved using an app on your smartphone and continue to
to grow if you replace your LOONCUP in the future with a new one.
Q. Why does the battery last only 6 months?
When we began the project, we tried to use a rechargeable battery. However, due to various issues described in more details below we changed to a ‘CR2032’ battery which is non-rechargeable.
All electric parts are sealed in silicone, so it is not possible to replace the battery.
There are safety issues involved in charging batteries, overcharging needs to be avoided. While there are solutions to this problem, the small size of LOONCUP makes it difficult to include the additional circuits required.
We have already made many design changes to improve the product, which delayed the release and disappointed our backers. While we plan to implement inductive charging in next version of LOONCUP, we don't want to delay the current release any more than necessary.
We plan to offer promotional codes with discount rates for our backers when we release future versions as well as priority in joining any beta programs.
I love this hilariously mismanaged kickstarter and will never request my money back. Since it's been literally years, I have no recollection of what I paid, but I know that it is a bargain for all the entertainment I've gotten from this project. If, some day, I'm able to gift my daughter (now a toddler), or perhaps her daughter, one of these smart menstrual cups that only work 6 times before they have to be replaced, that will be the cherry on top of this comedic sundae. 6. Battery life
For safety, the battery is sealed within the cup, and cannot be replaced.
We do everything possible to minimize energy usage and maximize the battery life.
We have been able to increase the expected time from 3 months to approximately 6 months.This is as we described at the launch of the campaign, we apologize if this was not clear.

1. Why has it taken so long to ship this product?
Since the inception of this project we have always prioritized quality and safety.
The LOONCUP is an innovative design and during our testing we have found challenging problems and issues that required changes to the product. These often required new approaches and combined with thorough testing it has taken time and many design iterations to reach a satisfactory solution.
2. When will I receive my LOONCUP?
We would love to ship you the product today, but we have to ensure that there are no unexpected problems. We are now arranging for beta testing in a group of 100 women who have been through a selection process.Once the beta testing is completed we will then be shipping you your LOONCUP. If there are unforeseen problems that occur during the beta testing then we will address them.
We will keep you updated throughout the process.
We know the delays are frustrating, but we strongly believe in quality over speed and appreciate your patience and understanding.
3. Can I join the beta testing group?
The beta test group has already been selected from among the backers. We will keep you updated throughout the process.
4. How do I know this products is safe to use?
We have designed the LOONCUP to be safe to use. It is made of medical-grade silicone, latex-free, BPA free that won't cause allergic reactions. In addition, beta testing will be completed before we send you LOONCUP.
5. Can I get refund?

When a project is successfully funded, the creator must complete the project and fulfill each reward. Once a creator has done so, they’ve satisfied their obligation to their backers.
Throughout the process, creators owe their backers a high standard of effort, honest communication, and a dedication to bringing the project to life. At the same time, backers must understand that when they back a project, they’re helping to create something new — not ordering something that already exists. There may be changes or delays, and there’s a chance something could happen that prevents the creator from being able to finish the project as promised.
If a creator is unable to complete their project and fulfill rewards, they’ve failed to live up to the basic obligations of this agreement. To right this, they must make every reasonable effort to find another way of bringing the project to the best possible conclusion for backers. A creator in this position has only remedied the situation and met their obligations to backers if:
they post an update that explains what work has been done, how funds were used, and what prevents them from finishing the project as planned;
they work diligently and in good faith to bring the project to the best possible conclusion in a timeframe that’s communicated to backers;
they’re able to demonstrate that they’ve used funds appropriately and made every reasonable effort to complete the project as promised;
they’ve been honest, and have made no material misrepresentations in their communication to backers; and
they offer to return any remaining funds to backers who have not received their reward (in proportion to the amounts pledged), or else explain how those funds will be used to complete the project in some alternate form.
The creator is solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If they’re unable to satisfy the terms of this agreement, they may be subject to legal action by backers.
I'm getting the feeling they've run out of money again. The communication from Leo started when they received additional funding and now all communication has stopped once again. I'm throwing in the towel. I'm expecting and no longer have the need for it, not that I believe it would be complete in the next 9 months anyways. I am no longer interested in supporting this venture and would also like a refund. What's sad is I'm not even confidant I will receive that. I should have requested it back when they received the additional funding and were actually giving refunds. I have zero trust in you Looncup.

I knew this was risky. When the company of my current mentral cups had to get approval through the fda to sell in the US they had to make changes and it took a long time. With the advancements they proposed I knew it would take time, I was not surprised that there were changes, but I am starting to wonder if this was some fantastical idea that would never be able to see the light of day. Hopefully an update with be forthcoming sooner rather than later.

Based on the initial campaign, I was really excited about this product. It seemed as though the Loon Cup was much closer to delivery than it actually was. Two years later, we're still waiting. The delays and lack of communication have worn out my patience. I wish you luck with this product development but it's not for me anymore. I am requesting a refund.
