"Sneaker" is the long awaited 2nd album from the "Tulsa Sound" influenced Paul Benjaman Band. 2 years in the making between touring stints with both the band and as a member of the Secret Sisters, It was recorded at Fellowship Hall Sound in Little Rock AR under the engineering talents of Jason Weinheimer. All initial tracking went straight to 24 track analogue tape as used on the best sounding records of the rock era. The tracks were transferred to digital for overdubs and mixing, and the final project is at the mastering studio as we speak. The album will feature Jesse Aycock (from Hard Working Americans) on steel, guitar, and background vocals. Andrew Bones on drums, vibes, and percussion, Bo Hallford on bass, Jeff Newsome on keys, and Patrick Ryan (the Secret Sisters) on percussion.
The goal of this Kickstarter is to fund the completion of the production process through mastering, the artwork and layout, and the manufacturing of vinyl and compact disc copies of the album to receive distribution in the U.S. and overseas via a new partnership within Horton Records. Any excess funds will be used for a publicist to properly launch the release and promote the effort through an extensive tour schedule.
Risks and challenges
When it comes to releasing an album, the writing and recording process create the largest challenges from it ever seeing the light of day. Thankfully both of those steps have been completed, and the mixed project is currently at the mastering stage.
Current challenges include making sure the final steps are completed (planning the production of vinyl and making sure the artwork is on time and looks good). Fortunately, Horton Records is overseeing the project, and Paul Benjaman is the right kind of crazy. Crazy enough to be in the music business, not crazy enough to leave the planet for too long of a time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
