What Is PiranhaPocalypse?
Welcome to the next evolution of Web Comics. PiranhaPocalypse is more than interactive and different than a motion comic. In the playable panels, images don’t just move they're played.
In our Playable Web Comic parts of the story unlock by playing a game of skill in order to explore new stories and content. Readers are able to change the appearance of the characters, effect the environment, and master the challenge of hunting down the perfect pellet mix.

How Does it Work?
Kratos, the GGP Pet Piranha, is the star of our Playable Web Comic (yup, he's named after THAT Kratos), but you're at the center of the action!
Each time you read, you will be able to control Kratos as magic food pellets are dropped into his tank. The more you eat, the more story rewards and Pocalypse options you'll get, until you kick off a "PiranhaPocalypse" in which a giant monster wreaks havoc across a major city. Along the way you might even unlock a few special game achievements!
Each week the story will be updated and the game challenge will change.
PiranhaPocalypse incorporates a game of skill with rewards and achievements into the web comic format.
The PiranhaPocalypse story will be updated every week, just like Gamer Girl Pinups. The panels will set up the story for what's going on, how Kratos is effected and which character will experience their Pocalypse! The game side shows two parts of Kratos' life and imagination.
In Tank Mode, Reader play a fast paced physics game. This is Kratos’ day to day life, filled with challenge and the gateway to his Pocalyptic visions through collecting Magic Pellets. Each round will be framed with a comic that furthers the story and sets up the events for ‘Pocalypse Mode.
Pocalypse Mode is where the story mashes into giant monster destruction. The comic will become a single panel as Kratos the Destructor and his tank buddy Tweezer become a force of global disaster. Readers will control Tweezer, fending off humans while Kratos charges his Destructor Powers. When Kratos is ready to fire, Readers attempt to take out the best targets and unlock more content.
Food and Dreams don’t last forever though! Readers will have to be quick to get what they need, or try again.
Life in the Tank
Kratos lives in the Gamer Girl Pinup house, watching from his tank as they play games, watch movies and TV shows. Whenever the girls feed him, they always drop in a few MAGIC PELLETS along with the regular food. Eat enough magic pellets and you’ll kick off a Pocalypse, but there are a few things in your way.
First, other food pellets affect you as well. Some make you fast, some stop you in your tracks, and all of them are floating in an awesome water physics simulator. So there’s a ton of challenge even before the carnage begins!
Second, there’s Tweezer. This little crab is Kratos’ cell mate and best frenemy. She steals the pellets that reach the bottom of the tank, which can be a help to get rid of the regular pellets but isn't so great if you miss a magic one!
Dreaming of the Pocalypse!
Giant monsters go! All that pellet hunting pays off in the second half of each level, as Kratos goes into a daze and transforms into a huge beast inspired by all the movies, games, shows, toys, and culture the girls bring into the house. This all culminates in one big Pocalyptic fantasy where Kratos destroys a whole city!
So all hail Kratos the destroyer! As the pirahna tears down the city in a Kaiju beast form, you take control of Tweezer and clear out all the annoying humans getting in the way.
You can collect pickups along the way to unlock new skins, Pocalypse stories, and bragging rights as the biggest badass on the block.
How Can I Play?
There's no need for special hardware or a subscription fee to read and play along. All you need is an internet connection and you're good to go!
We’ve only got time for Three Pocalypses (Pocalyi?), and it's you backers that will choose which make the final cut! Everyone who's supported the campaign will get a vote for their favorite, and we'll tally up to determine which ones the team includes in the game!
After the oceans rise, whose Pocalypse will the world see? You decide!
Here are your choices:
Tanooki – BotPocalypse
Robots and Tokyopop are Tanooki's weaknesses. Kratos will twist her joy to create a perfect mashup of electro-wonderland and ultimate destruction. Did we mention robots?
Eve is from the land of the Ice and Snow and loves ounce bit of it.In this Pocalypse, boats of Nords face off against Kratos the Sea Wyrm, steeling themselves for a spot in Valhalla!
Nessa – ThronePocalypse
Kratos is all too happy to smash Westerplace and the rest of Nessa's fantasy fun. He topples towers and takes out dragons by the dozens. Who needs an iron throne when you’re a god of the Sea?
Tru – ZillaPocalypse
Tru loves the classics. In the spirit of sliver-screen giants like King Kong and Godzilla, Kratos does his best to bring down a world of flimsy models in... What else? A giant rubber suit!
9key – PunkPocalypse
9key thrives on streets but her fun is no match for Punk Piranhas! Flood the clubs and battle against everything you drew in your 9th grade notebook. Anarchy 4 Evr! Also plaid. Ridiculous amounts of plaid.
See that top tier over there? Snag it to help build your own Pocalypse level! Our team can't wait to hear your pitch.
How it works: You’ll brainstorm with the team and hash out what Pocalypse is brewing in your head. The team will make it a reality and you’ll be an active part of making the game a reality.
This will be a 4th Pocalypse for everyone and have its very own release 2 months after the launch of the core issue. Quick act now and be a part of the team!
Skins and Custom Stuff!
If you’re like me, you love customizing the characters, and in PirahnaPocalypse you can do just that! Every time you play you can unlock new skins for Kratos and Tweezer, along with custom add-ons for their tank.
A Big World
The Playable Web Comic is just the start. There’s a lot more happening.
The best Web Comics jump off the page and into your life, and I want PiranhaPocalypse to have just as much impact. The whole project has to be awesome for all of us, and I'm collaborating with several extremely talented creators to make that happen. Here are just a few of our plans for our pal Kratos...
The PiranhaPocalypse web comic will be a 4-part special series hosted alongside Gamer Girl Pinups on Tapastic, free and available to everyone.
Did I mention I love character design and customizing? There’s no better way to play with characters than Vinyl toys, and thanks to our awesome friends at Munky King Toys a Kratos vinyl is coming your way this fall! Anyone backing at $100 or more gets one of these limited edition toys of their very own, and at higher tiers I'll sign them for you!
I’m also a fan of awesome clothing design, and so I’m collaborating with the talented folks at 5&A Dime in San Diego for a lineup of Kickstarter gear! You can check out the pieces below. Get them while you can!
The Studio, the Team and our Values
I am Trisha Williams and I’m the creator and artist of the Gamer Girl Pinups comic series. PiranhaPocalypse is my new project mixing Web Comics and Games!
I love making the Gamer Girl Pinups, but I've also been making games professionally for over a decade. For PiranhaPocalypse I put together a team of talented people from across my travels to take on the challenge of expanding the Gamer Girl Pinup Universe.
This is A-list talent from all over the entertainment industry, and so I know we can knock this out of the park
For Systems: Joe Unger - Former Director and Lead Designer on tons of game projects, with over 20 years of game industry experience. Joe's also my partner at Pigeon Hole Productions..
For Code: Keaton VanAuken – I've put in hundreds of hours in the trenches with Keaton, and I can't wait to work with him again after his success at Yeager Games.
For Audio: Michael Peter – Sound can make or break a project like this, and Mike is the best of the best at audio. He’s got some great experience under his belt, including my favorites Jade Empire and Mass Effect.
Cooperative World Building
I’ve been lucky to have so many people come out in support of this little fish and his big dreams. The collaborators we’ve lined up to make all this a reality is really amazing...
Tapastic Comics – These folks helped build Gamer Girl Pinups into what it is today, and I couldn't be happier that the PiranhaPocalypse web comic will be released through them as well.
Munky King Toys – Home to some of my favorite artists and toy lines, Munky King is will be also be home to the PiranhaPocalypse toy line.
5&A Dime – Jay and his crew are giving this fish something awesome to wear - and they're right here in my home base, San Diego.
You! – I came to Kickstarter because it's the best place to collaborate directly with you, the fans. There’s no better way to make something that with people you know will love it - because it's as much theirs as mine!
Early Access to the Game - All backers will get early access to the game and have exclusive first looks at our progress. We'll send you a code that will unlock the game and let you play a full month before everyone else! (All backers)
The Game - Everyone gets the game itself! Everyone! We want playable web comics to become the norm and as a backer you'll be the pioneer who played the fist one! (All backers)
Choice – As a supporter at any tier, you get to vote for which Pocalypse makes it into the game! Every supporter counts! (All backers)

Digital PiranhaPocalypse Art Collection – This digital (PDF) release will collect concept art and comics from the project, all inspired by our favorite pop-culture touchstones. (All backers $25 and up)
Star Power - You'll get a code to unlock Star Power Pellets! This is the only way to access to your very own Mario Vision, Piranha style. The screen will flash and you’ll seem unstoppable as your little zip around your little tank. It’s a whole new way to play and will only be available here! ($50 and up)
5&D Enamel Pin – Take a piece of the PiranhaPocalypse wherever you go! Let Kratos know you should be spared ith this unique creation made in cooperation with 5&A Dime.

Risks and challenges
The team and I have done our homework and worked very hard to reduce our risk, and yours. We've got a lot of work ahead of us, but it's good work - and work we're all highly qualified to handle.
The chief challenges we face are...
- Mobile Browser Capability: Since we're launching with browsers as our primary platform, we'll need a ton of testing. Our beta may extend out beyond the launch date while we work out the bugs, but you'll still be able to play as planned.
- Data Base Usage: Achievements take up space! Loads of it! We'll need to make sure our servers are always ready for everyone to play! Fortunately, the team has done several games and knows how to optimize.
- Scope: We're determined to ship this project by October and need to keep our scope limited to the 3+1 'Pocolypse to make sure you get the good stuff, on time and on spec.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
