VirWind is a virtual reality device that creates wind flows and directs them at the user based on the current game or movie experience.

We are designing and manufacturing a VR device that determines the exact moment and strength of the airflow and directs it on the user, depending on what is happening in the game, movie, or other piece of entertainment. Experience takeoffs, landings, falls, weather, explosions, and any other situation that creates air fluctuations. VirWind captures them all and fully immerses you in the experience!
VirWind can be used not only with virtual reality headsets, but also with Playstation and Xbox consoles. With VirWind, you will play in a new way, feeling the environment of the virtual world.
1. Our goal
We want you to achieve a new VR experience, fully immersing yourself in the virtual world. There are a lot of VR gadgets, but none offers what VirWind does!
It all started with the purchase of virtual reality headset Oculus Rift. After using this incredible device, we were struck by its visual effects and recognized the promising future of VR technology. Then we created an attraction where everyone can try a virtual reality experience.
...Life was almost quiet, until one player, taking off his Oculus after playing the game Roller Coaster, said: 'If I could feel the wind, the game would be much more realistic!'
I thought, “Why not create a special gadget that determines the precise timing, direction, and power of the airflow, depending on the action taking place in the game?” I shared my thoughts with my colleague at sphere of virtual and augmented reality technologies, head of "Altech" LTd, Sergey. He fully supported the idea, and we started project VirWind.
At first, we invited our colleagues and friends to join our team. When a team of passionate professionals was ready, we launched VirWind and kept on developing it for six months.
3. ChallengesThe idea, which seemed simple at first glance, required a detailed engineering study. We discarded several schematics before choosing the most promising one. The challenges included finding fans that were powerful enough and developing a lighter and smaller design, but our team is successfully solving every issue one at a time.
Today, we still have some unsolved tasks:
-How to organize mass production
-How to synchronize with gaming consoles and other devices
You can help us! We’ve invested a lot in VirWind, and now we need funds to create a ready-to-market device that solves the issues listed above.
4. What we have achieved so far
At present, we’ve designed and manufactured a prototype version of VirWind, but we are still discussing its final design. We need your opinion!
Currently, our team is working on software development at a lab in Saint Petersburg, while our designers are trying to find the best design solutions.

Our team consists of well-educated specialists from Stockholm, Saint Petersburg, and Florence.
