So. we're doing a show, called Three Pianos, running February 25 - March 20 at the Ontological-Hysteric Theater in New York. We being:
Rick Burkhardt (of the Nonsense Company):
Alec Duffy (of Hoi Polloi):
Dave Malloy (of Banana Bag & Bodice):
The show is based on Schubert's "Winterreise," his classic song cycle on winter heartbreak. The piece takes the form of a musical lecture/demo gone astray, with the three of us each at our own piano, leading the audience through our respective passions for the piece. Compositional mischief, shifting rivalries, freezing dances and some unfortunate butchery of the German language ensue.
And we need your help! To pay for it! Ah!
The moving and tuning of the titular three pianos being just one of the many costs.
We're offering some wicked rewards, and could easily be coaxed into other goodnesses for out-of-towners or people who just want a lil sumpin' special. Let us know. We aim to please.
Thank You, and Tchüß!
Rick, Alec & Dave
