About this project
These Treats Don't Suck is a collection of recipes that I've developed after having to eliminate gluten and dairy from my diet.
It's a guide to help you make fantastic treats for you and your friends to enjoy together--whether y'all are gluten-free or not!
I've tasted my fair share of gluten and dairy free things; some were delicious, but most were a sorry excuse for a treat. The thought of a future in which I could no longer enjoy delicious baked goods was enough to send me into a fit of the shakes. But I pulled myself together, got in the kitchen, and set forth on my mission.
Over the past couple of years I've experimented and developed my own recipes based on what I would want to serve my friends. I'm by no means a professional, and I continue to learn (mess up) every day, but I hope that These Treats Don't Suck can help you enjoy gluten free-baking and encourage you to experiment!
Don't let food sensitivities stop you from making and baking amazing things for you and your friends! Now, get in that kitchen, stat!

"Where's all this money going?" -Bum on the corner
Hey Steve! It's going to fund the final recipe development, art and photography, and the actual production of the book!
"What's in it for me???" -Lauren's Dad
Lots of cool things! Check out the sweet-ass rewards on the sidebar to the right. But don't worry Dad, I'll give you a nice discount on the book.
"Are you really going to leave the house with your hair like that?" -Lauren's Friend RJ
I will now.
Risks and challenges
The challenge with any gluten-free baking is the ingredients: they're all divas! You have do everything right in the right combinations, even rain dances to get them to cooperate sometimes.
They're also harder to get than regular all purpose ingredients and are not as accessible. And at the end of the day, the real challenge is coming up with things that taste like they're not made with weird ingredients
But we can deal with that! My tastebuds are picky, and I've messed up enough times to figure out what works and what doesn't.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
