WHAT IS DOG DOO-HICKEY and HOW DOES IT WORK
If you ever had the pleasure of picking up after your dog and having to carry it's dog doo in a plastic bag while you are walking, you'll know just how gross and smelly it can be. Not to mention that you no longer have one hand free to help with balance on slippery sidewalks, or grabbing the leash for more leverage if your dog pulls when he sees a squirrel. Maybe you want to use your phone, scratch your nose, hold someone's hand. Well, if you're holding a leash in one hand and a smelly bag of dog doo in the other, you can't.
We decided to solve this problem with this incredibly simple patent-pending product we call the Dog Doo-Hickey. The Dog Doo-Hickey attaches to any standard nylon leash (non-retractable) and holds up to three full bags of dog doo. The Dog Doo-Hickey is made of 1/16" stainless steel and then coated in a Plastisol Polyarmor coating.
We went thru several prototype stages until we perfected our design.

The Dog Doo-Hickey works with standard nylon or cloth leashes 1/4' to 1" wide.
It also installs in seconds with no tools needed. It is easy to reposition and is lightweight.
From there we went into a testing phase using not only our own dogs but enlisting the aid of several professional dog walkers and talking to pet shop owners. All who loved it!
You can attach pretty much any type of plastic bag to the Dog Doo-Hickey. Just tie a knot in the bag and slip it onto the Dog Doo-Hickey.
The Dog Doo-Hickey can hold one or two bags very securely and the bags will not detach even after a vigorous squirrel chase. When you reach a garbage can, you simple grab the bag by the knot and pull. The bag instantly slips out of the notch and you just toss it away.
We have partnered with several local manufacturers so that we can keep the production in the U.S.A. We have also been in discussions with a distributor who wishes to take the Dog Doo-Hickey to market once we have funding.
We are hoping to offer the Dog Doo-Hickey in your choice of Red, White, Blue and Black.
With your help, we are hoping to fund all the things that go along with starting a business and getting a product off the ground and into the market. All profits from the Dog Doo-Hickey will go right back into designing other products and helping to grow our business.

*Disclaimer: In the video we discussed that the laser cut steel would be stone rolled to debur and smooth the raw Dog Doo-Hickey. Due to a change in manufacturers, we no longer need to go thru this extra step and the Polyarmour coating will ensure that the final product is smooth and burr free.
Risks and challenges
We have partnered with several local manufacturers who have been doing laser cutting and plastic coating for over a decade. We have worked with them before and have complete confidence in their skill and workmanship.
Once Dog Doo-Hickey is funded, M&G Ideas will create and e-mail to all backers the Kickstarter Survey. This survey will collect information regarding your reward level, including shipping address and Dog Doo-Hickey color choice. Once our backers receive this survey, M&G Ideas require that the survey be returned within 7 days so that we can order the appropriate supplies to meet our delivery dates. If surveys are not received within the 7 day time frame, we will do our best to provide you with your color choice, dependent on quantity made (black is default color).
M&G Ideas will then perform the following steps:
Step 1: M&G Ideas will contact each of their manufacturing partners and inform them that Dog Doo-Hickey was funded.
Step 2: Marc and Gregg will check final CAD drawings and deliver them to the Laser Plus Technologies (laser cutter). This process will take two days to check, recheck, and deliver.
Step 3: Laser Plus Technologies will cut the funded amount of Dog Doo-Hickeys from 1/16 inch stainless steel and Marc and Gregg will pick them up. We expect this process to take approximately one to two weeks depending on whether Laser Plus Technologies has the stainless steel in stock or has to order it. Marc and Gregg will be on site for the first cuts to insure quality control and take additional videos to inform our backers of Dog Doo-Hickey's progress.
Step 4: Marc and Gregg will deliver the laser cut stainless steel Dog Doo-Hickeys to The Brinkman Company to be dipped in the Polyarmor coating. This dipping process, with drying time, should take one to two weeks dependent on Brinkman having the dipping colors in stock (and their schedule). Marc and Gregg will be on site to watch the first Dog Doo-Hickeys get dipped to ensure quality control and take videos to show the backers Dog Doo-Hickey progress.
Step 5: Once the Polyarmor coating on the Dog Doo-Hickeys has dried, Marc and Gregg will pick up the finished Doo-Hickeys and prepare them for shipping.
Step 6: The Dog Doo-Hickeys will be packed with an instruction sheet and delivered to the Post Office for Shipping. We expect this process of packing, addressing, and shipping the Dog Doo-Hickeys to take between one and two weeks.
Hopefully, if all goes well and we can book time with our suppliers in a timely manner we will have your finished Dog Doo-Hickey in the mail within 30-45 days or sooner. Thank you for helping to support our dream, our product and our company.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
M&R Ideas has found a cheaper way to ship overseas and to Canada. The new shipping costs will be $5.00 US. For those international backers that backed our product and paid for international shipping, you will be receiving a refund for the difference.
