Scramblers' ORIGINAL OMELET BAR™ is exactly what it sounds like! One of the most original, innovative snacks in years, Scramblers® bars are fully cooked, omelet-inspired breakfast bars. We use top-quality, transparently-sourced ingredients, like Organic, Pasture-Raised Eggs and Grass-Fed Ghee. We know how crazy mornings can be and how limited are the great tasting and healthy on-the-go options.
Armed with the best ingredients, we gently mix and individually heat-seal each bar in an air-tight tray and cook them to perfection, locking in the flavor and freshness. The result is a soft, fluffy, surprisingly moist, and naturally delicious morning snack. Our omelet bars boast 10g+ of clean protein and a radically low 1-3g carbs per bar, making them extremely keto-friendly.
Versatile as they are delicious, Scramblers™ bars are intended to be eaten at room temperature or easily popped into a microwave (right in their trays!) for a boost of breakfast warmth. Almost as if by magic, Scramblers™ bars keep for up to 12 months without refrigeration or chemical preservatives.
This is the healthy and delicious breakfast snack alternative you've been waiting for. One of our fans put it best: "where has this been all my life?!"
Over 2 years ago, we first conceived the idea for a tasty, nutritious, clean-label, fully shelf-stable, egg-based breakfast bar. Soon after, we started concocting recipes in our home kitchens and with our jerky co-packer. The idea that would eventually become Scramblers™ was thus hatched!
While we were able to make tasty egg bars and bites fresh out of our ovens, we didn't have the food science chops to achieve a jerky-like shelf life. So we did some research, and it turned out that the U.S. government didn't have the chops either! In 2006, a 136-page paper was published which explained why shelf-stable, tasty egg products were a scientific long shot, if not impossibility. We knew we'd have a tall task ahead.
Enter Chew, a self-proclaimed "team of chefs, scientists, and inventors that don’t believe in impossible and don’t care about how things “should” be done." With an underlying mission to "democratize good food," Chew tackles the wildest, most extraordinarily unthinkable, tallest tasks in Food & Beverage, with an unwavering commitment to do so all naturally and without anything artificial ever. After an impassioned pitch to Chew's Founder/CEO Adam Melonas, we brought Chew aboard to help develop the world's first fully cooked, fully shelf-stable, omelet bar.
Let's talk about our eggs for a second... we are in late-stage talks to partner with one of the top producers of Pasture-Raised, USDA Organic eggs, which would make Scramblers™ bars the first packaged food (other than simple shell eggs or hard-cooked eggs) to feature these superior eggs.
American Humane certifies that pasture raised hens enjoy at least 108 square feet per bird on rotated pastures (by comparison, “free range” is typically 2-10 square feet), making for happier hens and the best eggs you can buy. As nature intended, pastured hens peck around freely, eating any of the grass, weeds, bugs or worms that they find….NOT genetically modified, inorganic, industrial farm engineered chicken feed.
Not only is a life on pasture better for the hens, it's better for us humans too! Pasture Raised, Organic Eggs have superior nutrition to conventional eggs, including:
Made with the best eggs money can buy, Scramblers™ bars offer feel-great nutrition. Each of our bars contains at least 10 grams of protein, with only 1-3 grams of carbs (and 0-1 grams of sugar!).
A tidy snack, Scramblers™ bars weigh in at a svelte 130-150 calories per bar. We add nothing artificial – no preservatives, no artificial or natural flavors, and definitely no added sugar (or sugar substitutes). Along with our pasture-raised, organic eggs, we carefully source pasture-raised butter. Bacon, chicken sausage, cheese, veggies, and spices help Scramblers™ bars pack seriously savory breakfast flavor…anytime, anywhere!
We need YOU to help us get to the finish line! To bring Scramblers™ bars to market, we are raising funds to pay for a piece of tooling (specifically, a tray mold) that will allow us to make custom trays to Scramblers™ bars specifications. This is the only cap-x investment that we'll need to make, but we need your help to do it! Be some of the first people in history to try THE ORIGINAL OMELET BAR™, and help us bring healthy, deliciously different innovation to breakfast!
Risks and challenges
Risks and Challenges
Funding Security: If we reach our Kickstarter goal then we will have all the funds that we need to produce the product needed to fulfill our Kickstarter Rewards commitments.
Government Red Tape: Still, the USDA, FDA, and process authority at our co-packer will need to sign off on our Scramblers™ product before the bars can be released. All of our ingredients and our processes are within the known retort cooking guidelines, so we don't anticipate any risks that Scramblers™ bars won't be released.
Tray Fabrication: It will take some time for our trays to be fabricated, as we will need to fabricate a test mold, make and test trays from it, and then make the full and final production mold and then make trays from that mold, only after which will we be able to run our first line production run using those final trays. This process is expected to take 90-120 days from the time that the first mold and trays are ordered, which will happen as soon as we reach our funding goal.
Co-Packer Partnership: Our co-packer has been consistently committed to seeing our project to completion. They work closely with the US government to produce food for US soldiers and they see Scramblers™ bars as a great solution for the military. In theory, our manufacturer could be acquired, experience an unexpectedly forced closure, or face some other external shock that could result in them being unable to produce our product. Given everything we know at present, these risks would be extremely unlikely.
Executive Team Commitment: For Matt and Dan, our careers, our personal and professional reputations, and our own funds are heavily invested in bringing this product to market, so we can ASSURE you that there is no chance in us turning back and giving up.
Ingredient Supply: Most of our ingredients are easy to source, with plentiful sourcing alternatives available. Our Pasture Raised, Organic egg supply will depend on a specific partnership which, if it fails to be consummated, may result in us having to source organic eggs, which, from a humaneness perspective, are still vastly superior to conventional or cage-free eggs.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
