**BACKER BONUS: We will provide our first 80 package backers with an additional DLG koozie in their rewards package! Our thanks to you!
We're giving you the opportunity to be the first to snag a Navigator training aid (and the first to start dominating the putting green). The Navigator is simple, easy to use, and instantly effective. It is made to fit the shaft of any putter and works for both right-handed and left-handed players.
Once the device is on, it shows the user exactly where they are aiming at address and at impact. The face angle accounts for 92-95% of the starting direction of the ball, regardless of stroke pattern. You'd be surprised how often golfers are unaware of exactly where the putter face is aimed. And how can you roll in birdies if when you think you're square, you're actually two or three degrees off? We've got you covered.
The Navigator is incredibly easy to visualize once you've worked with it. You'll know exactly where you're aimed even after the Navigator is tucked away in the comfort of your golf bag. It's like confidence in a box.
KEY PRODUCT FEATURES:
- There are no batteries required. And no batteries required means no electronic malfunctions. Plus, no rising cost of product. It can be used anywhere from the office to the course.
- Quick and easy setup process. Once you have the Navigator in your hands, it only takes a matter of seconds to start practicing effectively. The box that it comes in is used for alignment on any putter.
- Speaking of your putter, with Navigator training YOU ARE PRACTICING WITH YOUR OWN GEAR. Many putting training devices force you to train with an entirely different putter, something other than your golf ball, or they change the weight (and feel) of your club. We want your training to have a lasting impact on your game. So we eliminated the chance of losing that feeling you gained in practice. Our materials are the lightest weight possible. And you're using items from your very own bag.
BING. BANG. BOOM. GET AFTER IT, you putting guru, you.
From concept to physical product, it has been one heck of a ride and we're almost there. Over the past three years, we've been through many phases of prototyping. We wanted to make sure the Navigator was the best it could possibly be, so that YOU would be the best you could possibly be.
So we've got the product. We've got our colors. We've got the brand. And now we need some help to get to manufacturing and distribution.
The DLG team headed on down to the PGA Show in Orlando, F.L., on January 21st with our heads held high and final prototypes in hand. We had just a 10 x 10 booth in a nearly 400,000 square foot exhibition space! The show is the largest gathering of PGA Professionals in the world. And right now we're just a small fish in the sea of HUGE golf companies. The response was overwhelmingly positive among top PGA instructors, teaching academies, and international distributors. We made a splash! (And confirmed how rad the Navigator really is for golf training)
Because you're amazing. Simply put. We're using the gathered funds to move into distribution with our manufacturer (right here in the USA!) The final molds will be created, and the first run of units hot off the press are headed your way, friends. We're stoked to get this project off the ground and give you or your golf enthusiast the gift of lower scores and more enjoyment on the course.
How are we gonna pull this off?
The team at DLG is family. We've kept it all in-house for a reason…we work incredibly well together and have a passion for making things happen. When Larry said we'd be at the PGA show in 2014, a few people were skeptical. Not only did we make it, everybody came together and we were a SMASHING success! PGA Professionals from all across the world went NUTS for this thing. Pre-orders skyrocketed, and we couldn't keep up with demand. A pipeline of International distribution opportunities opened up and the team is incredibly excited to get started. The WORLD is ready for the Navigator!
But none of that happens unless we're able to pull off this last, and most important step.
On our end, we've lined up a mold to produce the first run of units, in addition to securing a local fulfillment house in Greensboro, N.C. They're both just waiting for the green light to start the first production run!
It will take approximately 3 weeks to produce the first run of 2,000 Navigators once we are funded. The first orders will ship approximately 4 weeks after we give the okay to get started.
The soft goods portion of the reward tiers will be manufactured by a company within our family located in Baltimore, M.D. They've been quick, responsive, and incredible thus far with our contest and promotional giveaway products. We expect no deviation as we push some BIG orders their way after kickstarter! We're armed and ready!
To fulfill our reward tiers, we're going to recruit the help of N.C. State PGA Golf Management Students! Dave has a long-standing good relationship with the program, its directors, and its students. When we begin the backer fulfillment process, we will have 75 + extra hands of help to get you wonderful people your swag, STAT!
From a web perspective, our main site will be transitioning into a merchant-friendly application for all modes of ordering whether desktop, pad, or mobile oriented. We've secured a cloud-based CRM program to reconcile and track all orders, customer inquiries, contacts and sales data within the company. Everybody will be on the same page with ORGANIZATION taking a high priority. We want to make a great first impression on all of you fantastic people who believe in us. The Navigator has already begun to make that impression on some of the best instructors in the world!
Let's get after it, Dirt-Nation!
Risks and challenges
The Navigator training aid faces a few risks as it is brought to market. The first, and most obvious, is that the market is not as receptive as forecasted. The golf community is very tightly woven. We're combatting this risk of market rejection with the knowledge, expertise, and PGA Professional connections our partners have maintained in the golf industry in their respective careers. Dave Nastalski is a PGA Professional and Certified Instructor. His community of fellow PGA Professionals will serve as the backbone for product introduction when the company is ready to hard launch. And we already have MANY orders from this group from the PGA Show, so we're well on our way.
In addition, there is always the possibility that the manufacturer doesn't deliver the product as expected, and thus not on time. We have taken steps along the way to carefully ensure that the prototype is a functional model for mold making. We are sourcing our hardware from U.S. companies and mandating quality control. The good news is our manufacturer is right here on our home turf, so this problem becomes easier to manage than if it were overseas.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Have no fear! It was important to DLG that training with our aid was as effective as Dirtily possible. That means your practice should be with YOUR ball and YOUR putter. So we worked hard to ensure that the Navigator would fit snugly onto any shaft. The arm can adjust for different lie angles and eye positioning also.
You got it! Mom and Pops will will be sinking putts left and right this season. And you, of course, will inevitably become their favorite child.
