Another chance to get the classic US Marines range! Now remastered with tags for slotta bases and produced in resin.
When we launched in 2005 our first range was some modern US marines and militia miniatures. Back then the models had cast on bases and were in metal! As we moved on to focus on our main ranges of Pirates and Old West, these models were discontinued but the US Marines always remained popular, even though they were made some 14 years ago! Today more than ever they’re very useful not just for modern gaming, but near future , sci-fi , zombie games etc etc.. The 32mm size making them fit in so well with the influx of new boardgames.
Kickstarter is the perfect platform for determining the scale of demand for bringing back a range like this. So we’ve remastered and remoulded the models with tags for slotta bases. Of course this time available in our resin which gives the closest possible replica of the original.
There’s 30 models in total, divided into 3 packs of 10. These are numbered 1, 2 and 3 for those ordering just a single 10 man pack.
This will be a short run campaign, so rather than do an early bird offer that is limited we intend to keep the offer there for the duration of the campaign so everyone can take advantage of it. At this stage we’re not sure if we intend to release these online after the campaign, we’ll see how it goes.
Our resin is of the highest quality, it has a hard plastic feel so isn’t brittle. Our models are hand sculpted and hand cast, there’s no digital renders here, only pictures of the actual models. Note the painted versions you see are based on 2 pence pieces (the original paint jobs from 2005) and the new ones come with tags and 25mm slotta bases.
All miniatures are 32mm resin models, they come in one piece with the exception of the saw gunners that have a separate bi-pod that requires attaching. Miniatures supplied unpainted.
We have four stretch goal levels. Stretch goals apply to the all in pledges, for each unlocked goal these pledges will receive the relevant reward FREE with their pledge!
We're going to announce the target levels for the stretch goals approx 24 hours after launch. This is because it's hard to judge what the level of pledges will be, meaning stretch goals could all be hit within hours or be clearly unattainable. This way we can make them achievable whilst giving the project a push along.
Stretch goal 1 Unlocked!
Stretch goal 1: Alternative heads. There are five different head options. They have a modern, near future, alt, sci-fi feel to them. Perfect so many themes. Note the original models are one piece so some basic head swap conversion is needed to use these. We've added a picture below as an example of some conversions. You'll receive a number of random heads equal to the number of models you've pledged for.
Stretch goal 2 unlocked!
Stretch goal 2. Marine captain miniature.
Stretch goal 3 unlocked at £2500
Stretch goal 3. Weapons. Three weapons ideal for conversions and scenery.
Stretch goal 4 unlocked at £3000
Stretch goal 4. COLONEL.
This is a fairly straightforward campaign so the reward levels should cover most cases. You can however adjust your pledge amount should you need to. E.g You want 2 '10 man packs' just enter £48.. However I noticed on our last campaign when the amount was changed it didn't seem to want to add the postage as it would normally. So just ensure your total includes the relevant postage. In case of any issues we'll contact you post campaign to fix it.
As with our last Kickstarter we'll be using the Kickstarter survey to collect the relevant info, in this case it's really just the address and a pack number for the lower level pledge.
WE WON'T BE USING ANY THIRD PARTY POST CAMPAIGN PLEDGE MANAGERS! So please pledge for what you'd like during the campaign.
We'll give regular updates once the campaign is over. Mainly with any relevant news, but if not else every two weeks just to check in. Of course we can always be messaged for any questions you might have.
We've put estimated delivery of June 2019, this is because we don't know how popular the project will be and want some breathing room. In reality we hope to start shipping very soon, hopefully in the new year. Of course we'll keep you posted on this post campaign.
Shipping costs should be added automatically as you select your pledge by the kickstarter system. So no surprise costs or charges post campaign for shipping.
They are flat rates of: UK £5 , E.U £7, R.O.W £10.
Pledges outside the EU may be subject to local import taxes. With regards to Brexit of course we don't know what's happening at this stage, but what we do know for sure is even after March 2019 there's a two year transition period where everything remains the same. This means all E.U pledges will arrive as normal without any customs issues or duties.
Risks and challenges
This is our second Kickstarter project. The first was of a far greater scale and was delivered on time. Of course having now done it once we are even better prepared to successfully deliver another. We have 14 years experience sending miniatures to customers all over the world. We cast in house and organise all our own shipping, i.e there are no third parties to delay things. Possible delays could arise if the project achieves an extremely high unexpected level of backing, even in this case we can calculate any delays and inform backers accordingly. I don't anticipate any problems. The miniatures in this project are made and ready to be produced.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
