I have included the above short video to give you a closer look at the art work and a feel for the game.

The story so far ............

Prototype for Global Angler has been completed and is ready for manufacture. Below is what it looks like. It received rave reviews when play tested and is a lot of fun.

Game Playing Board

In addition to Global Angler - Exploring the world of fishing -  the family game  - I have created another game for younger children ages 6+ called Global Angler Junior - Discovering the world of fishing - The Trading Card Game. This is also a whole lot of fun particularly when parents play with their children. The junior edition is just a raw prototype at the moment and I was hoping to get  enough money via Kickstart to bring it to life with a graphic artist. Below are the rules for each of the games. The Junior version will be done in a cartoon type theme.

GLOBAL ANGLER - JUNIOR tm

The Trading Card Game

Rules of Play

The Game:

This junior edition of the family game Global Angler tm has been specifically designed for children. Questions are a combination of straight answer, multiple choice and true or false. They have been developed to provide some valuable knowledge and amazing facts on popular fish species, fishing methods and techniques in marine (saltwater) and freshwater environments throughout the world. A great introduction to the recreational sport of fishing for any child. Children require no prior knowledge of fishing to play the game. Parents will also find this a fun game to play with their children.

Ages:

6 & Up

Players:

2 To 4

Game Contents:

1 Playing board

4 Playing pieces

100 question and answer cards (containing 200 questions)

50 Prize Catch Trading cards

1 Dice

Object Of The Game:

The object of the game is to collect the 10 different Prize Catch Trading Cards (numbered 1 to 10) by picking them up from the stack and trading cards with other players throughout the game. The first person to do so is the winner.

Game Play:

Shuffle all game cards prior to commencing. Playing pieces are to be placed on box marked start. Play commences with a roll of the dice with each player in turn moving around the board in clockwise direction.

Questions:

When landing on a square with the fish hook symbol (in the shape of question mark) a question is to be asked by the next player in a clock wise direction. There are two questions on each card and it should be decided at the start of the game whether questions will be asked from the top or the bottom of the card for the duration of the game. This can then be varied for different games.

If the question is answered correctly the player may take another roll of the dice, if incorrect the player remains on this square. Should any player experience difficulty in reading the question another player may assist.

Prize Catch:

The Prize Catch Trading Cards contain the 10 different globally recognized fish species that can be caught around the globe. When landing on this square you may take 1 card from the Prize Catch stack. You will throughout the game collect cards (doubles, triples etc) of the same fish and these are to be kept for handing back as penalties or trading with other players. If at any stage during the game there are no more Prize Catch Trading Cards left in the stack, all players are to keep 1 fish of each different species they hold with all other cards to be placed back in the centre stack. The 10 different Prize Catch fish species are as follows:

1. SUPER SAILFISH

2. COOL COD

3. MIGHTY MACKEREL

4. TURBO TUNA

5. WAYOUT WAHOO

6. BRUISER BREAM

7. BIG MOUTH BASS

8. SHIFTY SHARK

9. TROPHY TROUT

10. SURFER SALMON

Penalty Boxes:

There are two boxes on the board marked "Penalty One Fish", when landing on these boxes players are to give back one fish by placing a card of their choice from their collection on the bottom of the stack.

Trading/Receiving Fish:

"You may trade fish with any player" (2 squares) - means that ONLY THE PLAYER LANDING ON THESE SQUARES CAN TRADE FISH with another player of their choice. This is an opportunity to obtain a fish that they may not already have.

"All players may trade fish" (1 square) - means that WHEN ANY PLAYER LANDS ON THIS SQUARE ALL PLAYERS CAN TRADE with each other to obtain cards that they may not already have.

"You may choose 1 fish from the next player" - means that YOU MAY TAKE ONE FISH OF YOUR CHOICE FROM THE NEXT PLAYER (in a clockwise direction).

"All players pass on 1 fish to the next player" - means that YOU MUST GIVE 1 FISH OF YOUR CHOICE TO THE NEXT PLAYER (in a clockwise direction).

Some player/s may not have fish to pass on and this simply means that the next player misses out, although the player without the fish may receive one from another player.

IF AT ANYTIME THROUGHOUT THE GAME YOU DO NOT HAVE A FISH TO OFFER FOR A PENALTY OR PASSING ON, PLAY CONTINUES AS NORMAL.

Other Squares:

All other squares contain wording that is self - explanatory.

Joint Winners:

On occasion there maybe two players holding nine of the required Prize Catch cards that may agree to trade with each other to receive the ten cards. In this instance they would be declared the joint winners. (Although it is more fun to continue play to determine the sole winner)

If you enjoyed this game you would also enjoy Global Angler tm the game for ages 8 to adult. Check it out at www.global-angler.net.

Summary

Ok! Having now looked through the graphics etc and read the rules for both games I hope you are as excited as I am. The reason I am doing both games at  the same time is because some of the graphics and game tokens are the same throughout both games. Also it is more cost effective to have them shipped together and I will be offering a mega entertainment package with both games together.

So where will the money be going?

By the time I pay the graphic artist to finish the Junior Version, pay for  other contractors and do a manufacture run for both games, there wont be a lot left. And of course I have allowed for rewards for you guys as backers as you are so very important to me.

Risks and challenges

I have a clear direction of the game and where it is headed. However, even though the tentative release date for the game is August 2015, game-making is never a smooth straight route and certain factors may delay the time of release. However the time frame allowed is a worse case scenario, I will have it to you as I can and hopefully it will be a little earlier. I will simply do my best to overcome any obstacles in an efficient and timely manner, and make sure the game is at it's very best at the time of release. I am very committed to this project and can't wait to get the game or games into your hands. You can also expect regular updates.
