New offer: if you can convince others to back this project, you will be rewarded for the total amount all your backers give! Just ask them to mention your name when they back us. (For example, if you can convince 4 friends to pledge $25 for a DVD, you will receive the $100 prize of a DVD, the soundtrack, and a t-shirt!)
Furthermore, whoever recruits the most backers will receive a Producer's credit in the movie!
For the last three years we have been producing a film with the support of friends and family along the way. With pre-production we had about $2,500 that we acquired ourselves. We knew that getting through a feature film on such a low budget we had to work with what we had. We wrote the script with actors in mind we knew would fit particular parts as well as locations that we had easy access to.
On March 15th, 2014 we premiered Redemption of the Heart at the Arlington theatre in Santa Barbara and sold out the 2,000 plus seat venue. The positive response to the movie encouraged us with the task of getting the film into more theaters.
Now, we are at the final stage for distribution. We will be working with 5&2 Pictures to release the DVD in the U.S. and hopefully internationally. To help promote the DVD we are planning to use the funds raised by this Kickstarter campaign to get our film into theaters prior to the DVD release in October. We are looking forward to this next step in this amazing three year journey.

We have pledged to donate 5% of our theater run profits to other Kickstarter projects. To view other projects that have done the same thing, visit http://kickingitforward.org.
Risks and challenges
Since we have been working with such a low budget, our largest challenge is in the area of marketing. We don't have near the advertising budget that most movies have. So, we will need to focus on getting the word out in Churches, Facebook and with Christian radio stations. We have found these methods to be successful so far, but still have a long way to go.
Most independent films are challenged in the area of marketing. The best way to handle this stage of distribution is to not give up. We need to move on from the strategies that aren't working and focus on the strategies that are to help us get our film out there to be seen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
