Sex. It is how we are here. It is the driving force behind many decisions. But have you ever considered how far you would go for sex? What about your friends? Well, now you have a way to find out the answers to these questions and maybe more! In ONS: One Night Stand you and a group of friends (or strangers) go through the stages of a one night stand with a set of fictional characters. All characteristics of the characters are randomly chosen via cards.
If you want to try it out before you pledge any money, go here. There we have downloadable files for a demo deck that includes 68 cards (8 Portraits, 20 each for Rumour, Meetup and Arrival). We also have a printable scoring cards templates. Lastly, there is the rulebook that is included in the game, as well as a longer version.
What is ONS: One Night Stand?
ONS: One Night Stand is comprised of 324 cards that are separated into 4 categories: the portrait (24 cards), the Rumour (100 cards), the Meetup (100 Cards), and the Arrival (100cards). We recommend separating the decks to make it easier to deal a card from the correct category.
The Portrait represents your first look at them and is the only category where the cards have an image.
The Rumor is what you hear from a reliable source, someone like a close friend or family member who hasn't steered you wrong and whose information you trust.
The Meetup is the first significant thing they either, say, do, or what you notice when you first approach them.
The Arrival is either the state or location of their place (or yours, if specified), or what happens on the way there, during, or after.
Using these cards we have come up with a few different ways to play. We hope that a Community springs up around the game and can create additional modes and variations.
The first way to play is called Scenario mode. Start by playing three Portrait cards face up in a row. Once the cards are revealed, players (in their head) decide which of the three characters they would go home with. Once you have made your decision, Now it is time to guess who the other players would choose and write down your guesses. Once everyone is ready, players reveal who they chose for themselves. Points are awarded for each correct guess. This concludes round 1.
Round 2 begins with a Rumour card being played directly under each of the three portrait cards. Each Rumour adds to portrait above to further flesh out the character. Based on this super sexy new information the guessing process begins again and brings round two to a close.
Round 3 has Meetup cards being played on the previous Rumor cards. Now with even more unbearably sexy information, the guessing process begins again and ends round three.
Round 4 is the final round. Arrival cards are played under the Meetup cards. Now that you have the entire scenario played out before you, players make their final decision for themselves, and guesses for everyone else. Scoring is the same. Once everyone has revealed their choices, players tally up their correct guesses and the player with the most wins.
There are a few alternative ways to play Scenario. If you only have enough time for a quickie, you can play speed mode where you play all 4 rounds of cards and only vote at the end. Maybe you're interested in switching things up? Why not try reverse where you start with the Arrival in round 1, then Meetup, Rumour and finally the Portrait in round 4.
Our other major way to play is called Pimp (We apologize if the word pimp offends you but we simply could not find another suitable name). To play, everyone is given one card from each deck. Players then attempt to "sell" the other players based on the character generated by the cards. Make it entertaining! Add some voices! Throw some music in there! Act as bombastic as you can to convince the others that they should choose your character.
Pimp only has one modifier called Frankenstein mode. Like Pimp mode, everyone receives cards, but this time it is four cards from each category. From here players construct their creation by choosing one card from each category. Players then pitch their creation in the same fashion as before.
These are more guideline and If you think of a new and fun way to play, that's great and we hope that you will share it with others.
We created ONS: One Night Stand to be as flexible and open as possible. We understand sexuality is a personal thing and we want this game to be playable by anyone regardless of Sexual Identity, race, religion etc. We tried to keep the cards as general as possible so that no one is left out Ex: There are no gender-specific cards (No mention of male or female genitalia). While ONS: One Night Stand is designed for entertainment, If you want the object of the game to be more serious feel free to make it more serious. If you want to make it all about the laughs and jokes, go right ahead.
As far as manufacturing is considered, we have been in contact with a few different companies. The Decision will be based on how many copies of the game are needed and who can provide the best service for the money we raise. Based on the quotes we have received and our estimates, we will either be going with Wingo if the Kickstarter is successful to very successful or, if its a runaway success we will be using Shuffledink. We've been communicating with each of these companies for the last year to make sure we didn't miss anything. Both have been extremely helpful and supportive and we look forward to (hopefully) do business with (one of) them. As for fulfilment, we are not sure yet who we are going to use do to us not knowing the exact amount of copies that will be shipped. Rest assured however that the moment we do make that decision, we will inform our backers.
$15,001 We will release the full print and play version of the game for free
$100,000 Kyle will take off his mask
(If you have any ideas for stretch goals, please leave a comment and we will look into its feasibility)

Risks and challenges
We are just two people both in their early twenties and there are a lot of things that could go wrong. We believe that we have covered a lot of our bases but anything is possible. We spent the last nearly 2 (two!) years looking into different laws and processes to help this go as smoothly as possible. However, we understand that we are new to this and that there is no substitute for experience. Regardless of what happens, we promise to be absolutely transparent with everyone through this process and are fully committed to delivering our backers the best product we can.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
