Steam Keys - Second Wave

This is a very quick update. Not everyone received their Steam keys in the first wave we sent out a few days ago, as Desura can only provide keys to those who had activated Xenonauts on Desura.

If you had not done this, you should now be able to claim your key via the Humble Store:

  • Go to https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender
  • Type in your email address linked with Xenonauts. This may not be your main email address - it may be the email linked to the Paypal account you bought it with, or the email linked to your Desura / Kickstarter account. If there are several possibilities, try them all.
  • You will receive an email in that inbox with a copy of your Humble Store download link. Click the link.
  • Look at the "Xenonauts" Steam Key section on the landing page, and click the button.
  • Load Steam and go to Games > Activate A Product On Steam in the topbar
  • Copy the key into Steam

If you have tried both this method and the one in the previous update (the one in the previous update will work for 80% of people), then drop me a message and I'll look into your situation. However, please make sure you've tried all of your major email addresses in the key resender beforehand!

This should now mean anyone who backed us on Kickstarter or pre-ordered the game at any point prior to the launch has access to a Steam key.

Another update will follow in the next few weeks about the physical Kickstarter rewards.

      After some gameplay..
so.. we're military.. we fly into an area.. and we have no idea what is around or where we parked in relation to the alien ship.... only what is within about 1/2 ones movement rate.
so you end up, literally, running blind into areas you couldn't see when you started running, even if it's a field.
Maybe consider allowing the map to show structures and the target ship.
I feel like my military intelligence is really stupid when I land in the field next to an alien ship and I have no idea it's in the field to the left, and my people are wandering around looking for it.
gray-overlay the map (instead of black) allowing me to realize I've seen where I'm going.
anything in the gray area that is not a structure stays invisible.

The other thing is that 'action happened somewhere'.
so, if I can't SEE you when you shoot a gun, I have no idea where the shot came from?
consider leaving the map up, only allow focus on the closest soldier to an action (allowing you to 'hide' alien movement), and have some kind of notice where a sound came from..

that's my thoughts, thanks for listening. :-)

I just tried to contact you via KS contact button but wanted to post here as well. I am running into an issue where I pre-funded Xenonauts a while back, and got it in desura before the KS. Now I have two Xenonauts listed in Desura, but the key for each is the same.

Nikita (and anyone else) - if you don't have a key, please message me directly. I get email notifications for messages, but nothing for comments on updates.

Randy - yeah, you'll have it either on Desura or on the Humble Store, not both.

Got my key and started playing. Even though it's still a work in progress, I am very happy with the game so far!

This is shaping up to be exactly the x-com spiritual successor that I've been hoping for. :D

      Got my key! Thanks!

Question, if the key appears in Desura would it not appear in Humble Store? I only see it one place. I imagine that is fine.
