Wow! 1,000 backers and nearly $40,000 in just 36 hours!

I wasn't planning to post an update until we hit 100% funding, and I certainly wasn't expecting that to be within touching distance after only 36 hours! The support we've been shown has been incredible, so an enormous thank you goes out to all the people who have backed us or supported us in any way.

This update is just to say that we are planning to announce a couple of free goodies for backers once we hit 100% funding, and we're looking at stretch goals already - although things are moving so quickly at the moment we may not have them ready in time for when we hit $50,000. But we are working on them, believe me - and hopefully they'll be things worth getting excited about!

      Elite soldiers aren't women anyway so it doesn't really matter.

      If this turns out to be even closely as good as what XCOM was, it's going to be brilliant and from what I've seen, I have no doubt it's going to be HUGE !!!!

      Did you really think with a feature set like that you would go unnoticed to the fan of XCOM? You kicked a frigging hornet nest with that project :) Now you are screwed hehe

      I think you should get rid of the requirement that custom soldiers need to look athletic in their portrait. I for one would like to have an army of fat American soldiers fighting the aliens.

      Hopefully the free goodies are game content/balancing/bug hunting/polish and not more "backer rewards". Those end up being quite expensive (in both money and time) in practice and I didn't donate to the project to get shirts or posters, I donated to get a great game. :)

      Just wanted to say good luck, and I hope the KS project goes really well. I'm a huge fan of the original UFO games and Xenonauts looks like it really hits the mark. Having a KS project to give the game a final push seems like a fantastic idea :)

      Hey guys, congrats on the milestone I just wanted to leave you something to consider. Not sure if you guys heard about the controversy relating to HBS possibly adding exclusive backer game missions but I just wanted to leave some info on that in case you were considering something like that.

      Everyone appreciates the gesture adding it to the game as a whole or a timed exclusive to backers like HBS would be a lot better in the end.

      You mentioned long time ago that you were not able to add female soldiers to the game due to the fact that you would need to create new animations and so on. Does that mean that now they are in the plan?

      More content would be great, like really more than it was in UFO and UFO 2 together. Also instead of the Moon or Mars as a final stage you could make assault on alien ships directly in space, that would really jingle my jangles. Moon and Mars are welcome anytime too though. I'm waiting for a lot of surprizes from your game!

      Include a sandbox mode or just enlarge the tech tree and extend the lenght of a playthrouhg by just adding content. More Aliens/Weapons/Vehicles.

      I don't really care about free goodies that are physical (posters, t-shirts, etc). Those things will just direct funding away from the actual project and take time away that could be spent developing the game. That said, if there are stretch goals that will add depth and replayability to the finished product then I'm all for them. My two cents. And Congrats to the Goldhawk team for making a project worthy of all this kickstart support.

      About stretch goals, I'd be really excited to see a large variety of tilesets/environments to combat in. And perhaps more unique objects in the environment to liven them up a little.
