DO THE DOOLEY!
Sarah Dooley might be the next Mozart. Or she might not be. It could go either way. At any rate, she's has been mighty busy over the past few months recording her debut album "Stupid Things." Shaped by Sarah's musical theater background and trademark offbeat imagination, this collection of toetappers tackles topics as eclectically kooky as "that tattoo of your first wife," "the tooth fairy," "the goonies," and in our particular case, "popsicle peonies." Alas, a vision as vibrant and zany as Sarah's begs to be translated into perhaps the purest form of artistic celebration: the musical extravaganza.
In bringing to life Sarah's first single, the he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not wistful pop ditty "Peonies," we're aiming to create what we're dubbing a "musical short film" - a small movie that's both inspired by the energy of Sarah's music and tells a little musical story unto itself. We've been holed up in our secret underground laboratory (read: my childhood bedroom) for the past couple weeks, fleshing out the details. And by details, we mean the fact that we're trying to build a set, construct a bunch of gee-golly whizz-bang doo-dads, and train some flying monkeys (no, not really), all while staying true to the spirit of "Peonies."
We are heavy into pre-production on this thing, and are anticipating a mid-July shoot. We are hoping to raise 5,000 smackers to make it all happen - certainly a generous amount - but we're incredibly confident about the team we have built and are extremely excited to see this project realized.
THANK YOU for your generosity! We can't wait for you to see "PEONIES: THE MUSIC VIDEO"!!!
