Your Coins, We Have Them

The coins have arrived.

Sandra blogged about it here. She and Janci will begin shipping things tomorrow.

I have jingled them, pocketed them, fed a key ring through one, and basically adored them, and I did all of these things when I was supposed to be drawing comics. Fortunately I then went on to draw comics.

Some of you will be getting your orders before the end of this week. I'll post another update as the shipping begins in earnest.

(Oh, there are still almost 200 of you who haven't checked out at Until you do that, we don't have your shipping address. We can build your order, and we won't sell it out from under you, but we can't send it to you until we know where to send it.)

Rentier and Rentier like this update.

Also Thanks to Sandra for her work.

I think Howard mentioned that the Keydrop doesn't have a dome on the crater so you can feel it, and rule 34 doesn't on the glow in the dark side, so it will glow better.

TTS1#646 checking in from down under. Arrived today (in the same post as my Hero of Mechanicsburg medal) in good order. Gorgeous work, and only slightly smaller than the SAS CC.I'll need to wait on budget and the shop to fill out the couple I didn't order.

      Thanks again.

Just commenting that my Rule 34 also lacks the epoxy dome. I'm not really sure if that makes it cooler or not, but it's odd that it's missing on only 1 side, and only for that 1 coin. Odd for sure, though I'm not sure I'd bother to replace it if such an offer was made.

Received mine the other day. It looks great! I just got the Tagon Toughs coin.

Quality, good heft and great artwork. All the Schlock Mercenary fans at work that didn't get one are jealous and planning on ordering a coin.

It slips nicely into the pocket too. I'll carry mine around.

My Strohl Munitions coin also lacks a dome over the crater. It has one over the maxim 34 side, and it has it over the text ring around the outside on the crater side (did I say "side" enough there?) and looks amazing. While I suspect this is intentional due to it being a crater, I was expecting a full dome on all of coins. I also expected the edges wouldn't be exposed like they are, I hope I don't chip too many of my moral compasses flipping them (I got spares, I know they'll get worn out through very heavy use).

The images and apparent texture under the epoxy on all the coins give them a wonderful look, well done!

I received my order (which I was expecting in 2 envelopes) in a single box with an envelope inside. They may not come packaged as expected.

My Rule 34 also doesn't have the dome, but I have to say, the teal color is amazing even beyond glowing in the dark. I'm guessing the vibrancy is related to the glowing.

@JTD121 -- We'll have the coins in the Schlock Mercenary store in time for the next book release. They're all still in stock.

    8. JTD121 on June 3, 2013

Curious, and probably well enough after the fact to be of any difference....But is it possible to buy some of the add-ons after already receiving our coins? I missed out on the 7-23 tool, for example, because I was broke at the time (which is a perpetual thing with me), so I just took my pledge amount of coins.

Otherwise, these coins are AWESUM. And then some. I don't know if I'll ever use it for the drinks thing, though. I'm sure I'll find another challenge of some sort to use it for!

The coins are HERE!! and they are beautimous! I even got to show them off to my brother (and gloat). The only issue: summer in the south makes glue dots melt. My coins were ALL mixed up, but only 3 had escaped their little plastic envelopes. All were still in perfect condition, so kudos to Sandra and company for their packing. Now I've just got to find some coin boxes for to Amazon.

.... glow in teh dark? OMG I forgot all about that!!! ^_^

the coins have arrived, and they are awesome. Now to figure out how to display them... *hint, hint, heh

my coins arrived today! They look great and I've already made plans to award one of the monkey coins for a job well done.

I will post my sorrows (which are my fault)... I missed out on Series One coins, but my series Two is great! After all, everyone knows its NCOs that do the _real_ work. And I neglected to order one coin (an XDM D2 for my wife, a Gamemaster for many years) and decided not to complicate things with a change request) so I'm _really_ looking forward to their availability in the store.

My Maxim 34 coin also doesn't have the epoxy dome over the side with the most excellent gow in the dark ring (which by the way glows in the dark nicely!)

    13. Sean Long on May 28, 2013

Aaaaand, my coins arrived! I am the very proud and very very happy owner of Series 1-011, and Series 1-462, and a handful of other neat shinies. :)

General, open question: the Strohl / Maxim 34 coin does not have a clear "dome" over the Maxim 34 side - the only coin not to have domes on _both_ sides. Is that how it's supposed to be? (If not, don't sweat it, it just makes _mine_ more unique! ^_^)

    14. Sean Long on May 27, 2013

Bob, it would be best if you mailed the Taylers RIGHT NOW, letting them know where you're moving, and when. Be pro-active about it, so that your coins don't get sent to the wrong place.

With that said, I get the impression they're being shipped via the Postal Service, so a properly-filed Change of Address form with the USPS should make sure the coins get to you _eventually_.

Still, why take the chance on a potentially-avoidable delay? :)

    15. Bob Hand on May 26, 2013

In no way am I asking to rush, I know you have a heckuva job to do. I'm moving in the middle of the month (Louisiana). Can I possibly get an update? That way I can tell if I need to change my address.

    16. David Frederick on May 25, 2013

I'd think so too, but I've learned it's the question I *don't* ask that gets me (plus I work in tech support), so if there's actual doubt in my mind, I'll ask, and deal with any irritation I might cause. That being said, Howard seems pretty tough to irk, all things considered.

    17. Sean Long on May 24, 2013

I would hope that the Taylers at least get a tracking number for their _own_ sake. And if they have that, it'd be nice if we got an email with it, too. That's an extra layer of work for them, though, so I won't sweat it if we don't get that information, or if we only get it upon emailing a request.

    18. David Frederick on May 23, 2013

Will we get an email with tracking number, or do we just wait for the box? Apologies if that was already specified and I missed it...

    19. Howard Tayler 5-time creator on May 22, 2013

@Charles Toronto: Coins should be dropped off at Dragon's Keep in Provo sometime tomorrow afternoon, or maybe Friday. Those orders have not been assembled yet.

@Zalabar: I'll have coins in Phoenix, but not the numbered ones. Yours will have to come to you in the mail, I'm afraid.

@Chris Johnstone: Yes! Also, good comment about publishing the list of no-shows. We'll be emailing them directly from a different account in hopes of catching up with them, but your method is good, too.

    20. ldjessee on May 22, 2013

Awesome news! Can't wait to get these!

If the coins are in, when would it be reasonable to expect coins dropped off at Dragons Keep in Utah to be ready for pickup?

So, I'm actually going to Phoenix Comic-Con; can I get my coins there?

    23. Scott Corpany on May 22, 2013

Rock on! Guess I'll dash over to the Dragon's Keep some time this week and pick mine up!

So since the coins arrived the 21st ( Ahead of Schedule) does that mean Phoenixcon goers get a peek at the coins?

At this point I would be forced to conclude the people who have not filled out their information, are unaware. I think it is time to publish a list of the backers who have not filled out their information. This allows people to actually see that they are not on the list ( I hope I am not, I am positive I filled in the info, just can not guarentee the info was accepted), and harass any of their friends who are on the list to get their information in.

Heh. Jingled, pocketed, key ringed, adored... I rather thing Howard has just previewed the actions of all of us who will be getting out coins.

Including the bit about doing that while should have been doing something else, and then getting back to that something else.

That's awesome news Howard. Good luck to you all for keeping your sanity while sorting and packing all those coins up for shipping out. I don't envy you that task.
