Got the coins a couple of weeks ago, and finally got confirmation that the one I sent as a birthday present arrived at its destination (after I got it, myself). They are all awesome and much appreciated. Thanks!
One coin had slipped out of its pouch in shipping, but otherwise, there wasn't anything notable about the delivery (aside from my sheer excitement and oversharing of them). :)
It's fun seeing these arrive! Thanks for posting.
Please note that if you have problems with your order, posting here is not the fastest way to get those addressed. Email email@example.com, and we'll make whatever's wrong right.
Thanks again, everybody!
Series 2, #931, present and accounted for. (Plus other coins.) Package arrived today, in Australia.
S1-283 reporting in Malaysia - all coins are awesomesauce... and I shall need to visit the e-commerce site when up for the others I foolishly forgot to buy.
series 2 #507 arrived in Ontario, all the coins look great, very impressed by the quality of these
Series 3 #615 arrive in New England today. Nicely packaged. Kudos to Team Tayler!
I got Series 1 #590, nothing too stunning about the number that calls to me, but still, it works.
I ended up with a few extra monkies, one of which has already gone to a new home. My coworker's sister has cancer so she is now the owner of a monkey to do with as she sees fit.
Series 1 #256 hit England, looks awesome sauce, thanks you guys
Series 1 #277 just made it to Scotland, coins all slipped off the cardboard but came through intact and looking great :)
BTW Anyone have suggestions for display?
Hey this is funny. Someone mentioned they wished they had a coin with a Prime number, so on a lark, I checked if mine was prime. S1#541.
541 is the 100th prime, a lucky prime, a Chen prime and the 10th star number.
Whoa, baby! Such a silly reason, but now I treasure this coin even more. 100th prime!
Yup, the glow-in-the-dark works a lot better without the dome, so Maxim #34 foregoes it.
My wife should appreciate the monkeys as a birthday gift. She gets lots of circuses with monkeys showing up at her office.
TTS3#778 reporting in. Coins arrived safe and sound, but the glue dots ignored the cardboard insert.
If I thought I could get away with it (i.e. sans SpousalWrath), I'd stick 'em to the wall (in their plastic) for displaying.
Got my coins Monday- and some of them did slip. The others locked in place. To rip off another mythos...shiny. Very shiny.
And my son is keeping his room clean for a week on the promise of the Moral Compass coin. I think I may need more coins, guys.
Very happy with my coin set! It came in Saturday in great condition. Congrats!
Got mine! TTS1#537, firmly middle-of-the-pack. It's gorgeous, the concept art doesn't do it justice.
One comment on the packaging:
I see that you used adhesive dots to attach the coin envelopes to the shipping cardboard; the dots did not survive the shipping process. I don't know if it was the Texas heat or rough handling, but only one of the coins was in the place you originally put it. The adhesive seems to have much better grip on the plastic than on the cardboard, so you may want to experiment with using different paper products as stiffeners if you do this again in the future. Please note that this is NOT IMPORTANT, since the envelopes each coin was shipped in did a great job of protecting the individual coins, so no damage was incurred in shipment.
Great job, congrats on the successful project!
I got mine today they look wonderful. Series 1 #378
Now to decide how I want to display it
Haha I got a 361 series 2. Glad the coins came out nice. Now to add to my already huge collection. Glad everyone is enjoying the coins. I had fun drawing them. The eye is still my favorite.
I just got mine last night. So funny. Now I just need to figure out an appropriate display scheme.
Got mine today. Series 2: 172. (I NEVER get low numbers. NICE.)
My Strohl is also not lacquered on the crater side. I'm guessing that this is in order to let the glow-in-the-dark work?
Got 'em! How beautiful they are. The guys with service coins are gonna be mighty confused this week.
Mine arrived last week, but I thought maybe I shouldn't mention the numbers I got. :-D
Got mine today, now I'm wishing I'd had the funds to get more of them. My Strohl Munitions coin is also unlaquered on the Maxim 34 side, but from the comments in Update 24, others are also reporting this. Hope it's supposed to be that way and not a minting error.
I got mine, Series Two #189. Thank you to Howard and Sandra and everybody who helped in putting this together, all my coins are so awesome. Looking forward to seeing others at cons and fests and whatever else in the future.
Mine arrived today: Series 3 #146.
Quick question: the Strohl Munitions coin is only laquered on one side. Is it supposed to be that way?
My set has arrived (Well, my husband's. It's a surprise for him.).
They are well made and substantial, nicer than I was expecting.
No, wait, #644. Bad lighting.
Woooooo! Series 1, #777!
They arrived today! Series 2, #844. Awesome coins, Mr. Tayler.
I feel VERY lucky. I received Series 1 #221 (Or was it #211) I can't recall and did not check. Though they are NICE.
Got mine! :) Posted photo to facebook and tagged Howard. LOVE these. Great feel, art is fantastic. Now to see if I can weasel his manufacturer out of him for a project of my own.
Series 2: #267
@Gary Henson, yup, bigger box, at least for 20 coins.
It a bit of fortunate timing the coins arrived the day before I see the friend I bought some for. He'll be quite pleased tomorrow when he sees the Series 3, monkey, bottle opener and keyring in the morning. And I'm so very pleased with all my coins, especially series 1 #541.
Many thanks to the Tayler clan for all the hard work!
got mine tonight! #904
Got my Officer's Club coins today in NJ. All arrived in great condition, got #927.
I got my coins! I got my coins! Oh frabtious day, I've got my coins!
NCO coins and all the add-ons all arrived in beautiful condition. The monkey coin's already been given to my wife and two other coins are earmarked for friends (a lawyer and an engineer for a military supplier: guess which coins they're getting). Other coins may go to other friends, but my #107 Series 2 coin is all mine!
#972 (and friends, and a barrel of monkeys) arrived and look absolutely beautiful. Great size, nice solid feeling, and easy flipping. They are Wonderful.
My NCO package arrived in Houston today. Nice looking coins! (Though my wife had the nerve to ask "What are you going to do with them" :) )
Received on the 28th at my mailbox; picked up today. The coins seem to want to slide out of their plastic envelopes en-route; it didn't appear to have damaged them any. My kitty wants to nom on the coins, the box, and (especially) the adhesive sticking the individual coin envelopes together. (No, she can't do that.)
@Chris - It's also possible the increased shipping cost simply leads to a larger box - I'm not 100% sure how that works.
@Michael - Howard left a buffer in all the limited series in case of damage/loss in transit etc. Taking that into account, yes, series 3 sold out.
Just out of pure curiosity - I know the original series and series run #2 of the toughs coin sold out - was series #3 sold out as well?
Got my coins today - Strohl's glow in the dark is 7 times cooler than imagined!
@Gary Henson, Thanks, that is pretty much exactly the answer I wanted. I personally was on a single account, but needed multiple packages for my add-ons. You managed to answer my question, thanks again, and let others know how this was going to work for their specific situations.
@Chris - If you put all your coins on one KS account, it's been printed on a single packing sheet, and so is likely to be handled all at once, in two packages.
If you used two (or more?) accounts, then you've got separate packing sheets and they're probably not together.
Also, since I have not seen any info regarding how the packaging process is working, a quick question. For those of us with multiple packages (due to coin numbers) are both packages going out together, or is the Officer's Club package shipping and then the Add-On package shipping later?
@Dale, thanks for pointing me towards the shipping updates.
Sandra is posting shipping-status updates at www.onecobble.com. From her posts, I can convince myself that everything might get finished in two more shipping days, but three seems much more likely. Either way, this is me, not complaining.
So, shipping is underway I assume. Any estimate on how long it will take to get everything out the door, so you can have your house back?
Coins! Thanks again Howard!
I has coins! My only grief is that neither the low-number, nor the 101-999 number are primes. There was a 2 in 5 chance I'd get a prime. Do I get a prime? Do I? Not only do I not get a prime, I get as far FROM a prime as you can get in that group.
:) Thank you for letting me take part in this auspicious project.
