A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Sharing a room with a baby while traveling is a struggle. SlumberPod® is the answer.
A variety of things lead to poor sleep for little ones and parents. The room may not be dark enough, it's hard for parents to tiptoe around quietly or avoid using phones or tablets, your baby may wake up and see mom or dad in the room and insist on being picked up... leading to crying and/or sleeplessness (for EVERYONE).
Baby travel sleep made more restful and less stressful!
With SlumberPod, you don't have to:
Build temporary (and often unsafe) privacy solutions and hope they're effective
Set the playard up in the hotel bathroom
Spend money on adjoining hotel rooms
Sit in the corner quietly or hiding in the hallway or on the hotel balcony while your little one falls asleep
Sleep in the same room as your baby and not get good rest
Here’s to more Nighty Nights!
SlumberPod is the FIRST portable, privacy sleep nook that allows babies to sleep in their safe and familiar playard or travel crib with room to sit up or stand up inside. Created by a mother-daughter team, patent-pending SlumberPod solves the age-old problem of getting a good night’s sleep while sharing a room with your little one. With SlumberPod, parents can focus on having fun on trips instead of being stressed and having to find caffeine between every activity!
Any of these solutions sound familiar? Cramming the playard in the hotel bathroom or making a makeshift room out of a hotel closet and curtains? Maybe you've even spent money you didn't have on an adjoining room or tried the aluminum-foil-on-the-windows trick. These options can be unsafe, stressful, expensive and downright ineffective!
SlumberPod is a MOM-invented quick-assembly privacy pod that helps babies, toddlers and caretakers get a good night’s sleep. It completely encloses a playard and is:
Outfitted with four ventilation panels for additional airflow
Uses sturdy aluminum poles
Portable and Easy:
Lightweight and compact: Weighs less than 6 pounds
Fits inside carry-on luggage: Stows in 17.5" x 6" x 5" inch bag when not in use.
Quick and easy to set up and dissemble
Bottomless: designed to slip over a standard-sized playard—sold separately
Cozy and customizable:
Zip it to allow as much or little light in as your baby prefers (all the way to nearly total darkness)
Tall enough for most three-year-olds to stand up inside (56 inches tall, 50 inches long, 36 inches wide)
Quickly collapses flat so you can store the pod behind a bed or dresser
Get ready to relax
Baby sleep expert approved
“Babies sleep best in a dark, private space. SlumberPod is the next best thing for babies who must share a room with parents or siblings.” - Natalie Carney, founder of Slumberosity, and certified baby sleep expert
More than just for traveling
SlumberPod is great for home, too! Our privacy pod makes it easier to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics' (AAP) recommendations to have your baby sleep in your bedroom until at least age six months. (Note: for babies under a year old, we recommend opening up the vents and leaving the main zippered window partially open.)
AND SlumberPod is a great solution to have on hand for naps in bright or unfamiliar places.

Kickstarter funds will be put toward shipping the order to the US, marketing/publicity and future inventory. We want to help as many families as possible enjoy traveling as a family. The more exposure this Kickstarter campaign gets, the faster we can grow.
Risks and challenges
Working with an experienced manufacturing and distribution partner, we are confident units will ship on time and did our best to build in some cushion time for unforeseen delays. A credible factory is already working on the first manufacturing run (samples look beautiful!), and safety testing is complete.
