Putting It Together is the 14th Stephen Sondheim production by Porchlight Music Theatre, and is the first under the leadership of new artistic director Michael Weber. This hip, modern production is set in an upscale, Chicago home in late 2011. This musical feast of Sondheim favorites weaves a lyrical tapestry around the emotions and relationships of five guests attending a cocktail party. No other Chicago theater company in the last 17 years has produced more work by the master of American music theatre.
Porchlight Music Theatre begins its 17th season with this revue inspired work, and brings together the Jeff-Award winning team of director Brenda Didier and music director Austin Cook. It stars McKinley Carter, Adam Pelty, Michael Reckling, Aja Goes and Alex Weisman. Funds raised through this project would go directly to the salaries of these supremely talented artists. And, any new donor to Porchlight will receive a dollar for dollar match from a challenge grant made by the Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation!
