Hey y’all. I’m Natalie Stovall and my band is called The Drive (James Bavendam on drums, Joel Dormer & Miguel Cancino on guitar). We are a high energy, live performing, touring-the-world country band from Nashville, Tennessee. As some of you know, we have been working hard to get new music out for a while now. We were in the home stretch of finishing a record with our label when they suddenly shut down. So we started over this year, writing and recording, getting it all done. In fact, some of you have probably been going through the same range of emotions as we have: excitement, impatience, mild anxiety . . . you know... Well, the music is nearly done and almost ready to be released! Why almost, you ask?? We still need your support to get this EP into your hands, so we have created this Kickstarter campaign to help us with the final funding surrounding this release. What's so cool about Kickstarter and why we chose this avenue to release our new music is that it allows us to engage with all of you in a very real and direct way.
Putting new music out into the world requires a lot of support. We considered looking for this support a number of different places, but it eventually became evident that the most important thing that has always supported us . . . is you. Throughout our journey, we have been continually reminded that we cannot create our music on an island. That is to say, we rely on our listeners and friends to complete this creative loop. We need you!
For your pledges, we are offering a variety of super cool things ranging from exclusive t-shirts and poster, to private concerts, bowling parties, and a whole lot more!
We had a lot of fun trying to come up with things to give back for your involvement in our music… We hope that this journey will continue to grow the relationship between this band and our fans. This whole experience has been a labor of love, and it has given us a new appreciation and perspective for what we do and why we are doing it. Thank you for visiting this site and we will be sure to post updates and check-ins regularly. As always, you can check in with us on both Facebook and Twitter to get down to the minute updates if you're curious.
We cannot wait for you to hear our new music, and we'll see you soon.
Love, Natalie Stovall and The Drive
Risks and challenges
We spend so much time on the road that getting into the studio has always been a logistical challenge. But our biggest challenge has been the financial burden of both studio time and production costs. Now that we are independent, there is no label or investor paying to get these recordings finished. We are hopeful and confident that after this kickstarter and partnering with our fans that we will no longer have to worry about the financial restraints and we can just focus on the music! This will allow us to get recordings finished much more quickly!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
