About this project
Use the Sansaire app to interact with the device and discover new recipes, or utilize the touch screen interface to adjust the temperature, time, and settings. You can also use it to monitor water levels, so you can feel confident stepping away from your food as it cooks.
Get ready for the best steak of your life, succulent fish filets, velvety poached eggs, and the most flavorful vegetables you’ve ever experienced. Even tough cuts of meat can become tender and juicy.
Revolutionize cooking by making healthful, delicious home-cooked meals with just a few taps. Set cooking times and temperatures using Sansaire’s companion app, make adjustments using the device’s Wi-Fi connectivity, and receive notifications and updates on your cooking progress on your smartphone.
Now, perfect cooking is even easier. Use Sansaire’s app to interact directly with your Sansaire Delta by selecting your desired results and setting time and temperature remotely, or use it to discover new recipes.
The app monitors the temperature of your bath, cook time, and water level so you can feel confident stepping away from your food as it cooks. It also notifies you when the desired cooking time and target temperature is reached.
Professional chefs in high end restaurants have used the sous vide method for decades. Take the guesswork out of dishes by eliminating the fear of failure. With confidence like that, you can focus on the parts of cooking that you enjoy and tackle meals you’ve never thought possible.
It’s hard to find time to make healthy meals when life gets busy. Vegetables in particular benefit greatly from this method because unlike roasting or steaming, they can be left unattended, and nutrients and flavors are retained. Find inspiration for new healthy dishes on the Sansaire app.
Sansaire’s precise cooking technology takes the stress out of cooking for a large group. You can relax knowing your meal will be cooked to perfection by the Sansaire Delta, and you can spend your evening entertaining your guests instead of hovering over the stove.
Bring out the Searing Kit to give your chicken a crispy crust and make your dinner party a spectacle people will remember.
Spend less time worrying about cooking the meal and more time impressing your date with your amazing one-liners. Even if they’re not perfect, your meal will be, and at a fraction of the cost of the high-end restaurants. If your new flame isn’t impressed by your Searing Kit, then is it really meant to be?
Tiny apartments, dorm rooms, sailboats, RVs: wherever you find yourself, there’s room for a Delta. Use it to cook two eggs or an entire Thanksgiving meal. Even if you don’t live in a castle, you can still eat like royalty.
Parenting is a delicate balancing act, especially when it comes to the increasingly finite resource of time. While the Delta isn’t technically a time machine, it might feel that way when you come home to a nutritious meal after a busy day.
Because you cook in bags, preparing separate meals for finicky eaters with opposing preferences becomes a cinch.
Even heating and maintaining baby bottles to an exact temperature becomes an easy chore.
Prepare several dishes in advance, then keep them in the fridge or freezer until the day you’re ready. Toss them in the water bath, and it’s like you spent the day slaving in the kitchen. Except you didn’t. Get fresh ideas for new recipes on the Sansaire app!
The Sansaire app monitors your water level. You can feel confident stepping away from your food as it cooks. You can see what the water temperature is, the temperature it is heating to, and how long it has been cooking.
When you outsource cooking to the Sansaire, you make time for the little things you always put off, like taking those French lessons, knitting that scarf, or finally reading that book for your book club. And if you get distracted, don’t worry – the Sansaire Delta ensures you’ll never ruin a dish again.
Listen to music, watch your favorite TV show, study, or whisper secrets in the kitchen, you won’t hear a peep from the Delta.
The Sansaire name comes from the French words “sans” – without – and “aire” – air, symbolizing how the Sansaire immersion circulator perfectly cooks food without ever needing to make contact with air. The name also conjures the effortless elegance and simplicity that the Sansaire adds to your life.
Delta or ∆ is commonly used in math and science to signify change, which feels appropriate for a product that has evolved so much and also has the power to make a big impact on the lifestyle of home cooks.
Lukas cofounded Sansaire in 2012 out of a desire to bring exceptional, new cooking techniques to regular cooks. His passion is bringing design and new technologies to the market, centered on scientific insights. He is the CTO of Sansaire.
Prior to Sansaire, Lukas pursued a Ph.D. in theoretical physics at the University of Washington. He was a software project manager for several multi-university collaborations pursuing quantum computation architectures.
Lukas has been an integral part of every product launch at Sansaire, from the original Sansaire sous vide device launched on Kickstarter to the Searing Kit and Steak Aging Sauce. He is particularly proud of how design plays a central role in the company.
Lukas is a mentor for high school and college students interested in programming, industrial design, and entrepreneurship. He participated in the Modeling Competition in Mathematics (MCM) an international competition in problem solving while in undergrad and took first prize in 2007.
Lukas earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics at the University of Washington and a Master’s degree in physics from the University of Washington. He stopped pursuing his Ph.D. after Sansaire successfully launched.

Risks and challenges
After successfully delivering the original Sansaire device to over 4000 backers in 2014 we've gained enormous experience. We've been working with top manufacturing experts, seasoned developers, and industrial designers to ensure the Sansaire Delta device is beautiful and works seamlessly. With any new device launch there still could be unpredictable issues that could cause minor scheduling delays in the manufacturing and logistics process.
Over the past 3 years we’ve vetted our manufacturing and logistics partners, weeded out the ones who weren’t performing to our standards, and believe we have an amazing network of experts, suppliers and manufacturing partners to bring Sansaire Delta to our Kickstarter backers.
The Sansaire team is committed to delivering the highest quality product, on time, and being transparent with our backers every step of the way.
A big, generous thank you from all of us at Sansaire for your continued support and for helping us bring Sansaire Delta to life!
Yes, models will be available in 110V and 220/240V. Sansaire Delta will work across most of the globe and will ship based on voltage in market.

• Bath temperature and progress as it heats to the target temperature
• Cooking timer
• Target temperature reached
• Minimum and maximum cooking time reached
• Water approaching minimum level
• Power lost to device during cooking
• Change doneness and /or thickness of food options, and see times & temperatures in a single view
• Switch between C and F for temperatures
• Pair to Sansaire Delta device over wi-fi,
• Unpair, allowing the app to pair to another Sansaire Delta device
• Remote operation once the device is on
• Turn off the device
• Filter recipes
• Tag favorite recipes
• Links to Sansaire product pages
• Links to Sansaire recipe submission page
Note that FCC regulations prevent heating devices from being turned on remotely.
We designed simple set-up directly on the device, through this companion app, or a combination of both - whichever you are more comfortable with. The on-device controls will be in the form of an easy to use touch screen
Bags made of polyethylene and polypropylene that are labeled BPA-free are perfectly safe for sous vide cooking. Polyethylene and polypropylene have been used in laboratory settings for decades, and if they leached any chemicals, those chemicals would have thrown off the results of sensitive experiments.
Always avoid bags containing polyvinyl chloride (PVCs) or those not labeled as BPA-free. Most name-brand zip-top bags, as well as the bags sold for vacuum sealing, will list their ingredients on the box.
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform used by startup companies big and small, with projects ranging from photography to food to fashion. Sansaire was original launched on Kickstarter in 2013. For more information on the Kickstarter platform, check them out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/discover…
The app cannot be used for remotely controlling the original Sansaire, but the app CAN be used for looking up recipes and times/temps of your favorite foods. We are happy to introduce new, unique cooking content on our app to help you on your journey to being an amazing home chef. Now available for Android and iPhones!
While it's sometimes costly, we want to serve Sansaire supporters in all corners of the world, and so we're offering the Delta to markets near and far from our distribution sites in the US and UK. Shipping fees are based on our actual shipping history for insured and tracked package of this size, weight, and value. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
