You're What I Want Wrong With Me | The Sick of Sarah Movie follows the working class, all-girl band from Minneapolis, Sick of Sarah, a phenomenon in the 13-30 demographic with no major record label but over two million downloads of their latest album, 2205.
I've already followed Sick of Sarah for two and a half weeks on their European tour, filming everything that happens in their lives on the road. It was just me (a forty-one year old dude) and five hot women rockers on their way to massive exposure. I had my camera on their beds while they slept, in their mouths while they ate-- things got intimate, gritty, and downright cool.
In mid-July, I am slated to embed with Sick of Sarah for 18 days of the Vans-branded Warped Tour, living out of their RV, eating their food, and filming every behind-the-scenes moment.
In early winter, I cap production by filming the Sick of Sarah recording sessions that will lead to the completion of their highly-anticipated next album.
The final project, You're What I Want Wrong With Me | The Sick of Sarah Movie, offers a rock-doc that's more important than a rock-doc. It's a movie about redemption, about love, and about every artist who ever spent a moment, a year, or a decade putting everything they had into their hopes for greatness.
Total Production costs for the film, including post-production (editing, sound design, deliverables, etc.) are capped at $30,000. So far, I've spent $5,000 of my personal money (everything I had) and have raised another $5,000 through private sponsorship, but $20,000 more is needed!
Please help. I will love you forever, and you'll get some good swag! And please, spread the link for this project! XO. J
