About this project
“The Jamtones have created with 'Bear Hunt!' a narrative that leaves lots of imagination space and hits just the right note for the 21st century kid brain.”--Broadway World, September 30th 2013
HELP THE JAMTONES MAKE MOVIE MAGIC!
Hey everybody! We're Josh and the Jamtones, an interactive dance party family band from Boston, MA., and we're here to announce that we're making a movie! "Bear Hunt: the Mini-Movie!" will feature music videos, live performance footage and animated shorts based on the "adventure chapter" story skits from our recently-released album "Bear Hunt!" Check out an adventure chapter below, featuring the enigmatic Margie (voiced by the talented and dapper-looking Joshua Shriber):
"Bear Cave Lodge and Resort" - Bear Hunt!
“Josh and Patrick have a great comic chemistry together that should entertain both children and parents alike. GRADE:A” --Shakefire (Oct 01, 2013)
Normally this kind of undertaking would involve financiers, which can lead to wasted time, loss of creative freedom and budget corner-cutting (not to mention those pesky lawyer fees).
Enter Kickstarter, which has quickly become the go-to business model for modern independent fundraising! Through Kickstarter we're able to bring this project directly to you! Our beloved, ever-appreciated and downright handsome audience. This allows us to make the animated shorts that we want to make and it gives you the chance to be a part of making it happen from the very bottom floor.
I'll make you a deal: you pledge towards the making of our brand new (and very first!) animated mini-movie adventure, and we'll offer up a veritable shmorgishborg of inventive and exciting rewards in return for your donation (check out the pledge rewards on the right!). We'll also keep you in the loop from day one with updates, storyboard and character design content, animation drafts and all sorts of other nifty stuff.
"The funniest 16 minutes of the year in kid's music." Jeff Bogle, Cooper and Kid "Best Family Music Songs of 2013" (Dec 18,2013)
LET'S TALK CONTENT!
Here's another adventure chapter:
"Lightning Lake of 1,000 Sea Monsters" - Bear Hunt!
Part of the charm of these skits is the imagery Josh and Pat (that's us!) create with their wildly outlandish descriptions of sea monsters, scary cornfields and (of course) evil bears. This is where we think the animations will really come to life! For example: when Josh and Pat describe the evil scary bear as "76 feet tall, with laser eyes and bees coming out of his ears," there would be an awesome/hilarious correlating animation of a massive cyborg bear wading through a cloud of angry bees!
It'll take the right animator for the job, which means raising an exorbitant amount of money to get a real pro (and/or pros!) in our corner.
THREE TIERS OF GOALS!
“From booking their hotel room to traveling through the cornfield of doom to the lightning lake of a thousand sea monsters. It really leaves you in suspense.” - Elissa L., Punk Rock Parents (Oct 01, 2013)
DO IT FOR THE KIDS!
It's our goal here at Jamtones HQ to put out quality, de-hokified content for kids and families. Pledge today and help us to continue making movies and records that parents can truly enjoy watching alongside their children.
We'll leave you with a super-quick sneak peak inside the original "Bear Hunt" album! Thanks so much for your time and consideration and please, stay in school everybody.

Risks and challenges
This Kickstarter Campaign will be a three-tiered project, with:
1. a lower goal covering a modest budget for a simple animation style
2. higher goals that would allow us to use an ultra-fancy animation house for ground-breaking 5D graphic technology!
We're confidant the animations are going to be super nifty, whether it's at a lower or higher price point. We expect some production delays, considering that this will be our first attempt at anything even remotely close to a movie. But we're also extremely confident we'll be able to work through any issues and end up with a great end product.
What might take the longest time is the shopping period, where we'll cart around our finished product to anybody that might be interested in picking it up (be it television, internet streaming sites, etc). When all's said and done, we hope to have this thing finished up and out to everybody by Summertime 2014!!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
