Local Sound is a pop worship project that began in late 2015 by a crew of artists passionate about contributing fresh sounds and songs to the worship music scene. Vocalists Jared Runion and Lauren Strahm front the band, joined by keys player Justin Amundrud, guitarist Trea Bailey, and a collective of other musicians from Nashville, Tennessee. The members of Local Sound lead worship regularly at a college ministry in Nashville called My Local. The band is currently in the studio recording their first EP which they've been writing over the past few months, and they can't wait to share the finished product soon! Executive producing the record (with co-producer Amundrud) is Michael Fatkin, the Sydney-based producer of Hillsong Young & Free. Fatkin is in Nashville this month producing the EP with the crew (and we are having a blast!).
The record is coming together with bright, synth-pop sounds, fun and engaging melodies, and lyrics that explore the journey of walking with Jesus and the truth and reality of who God is. Overall, it's a big celebration sound--one we hope draws you deeper into the presence of God (and you can't help but dance to!).
So we need YOUR help to get this record out! We have decided to release this first EP independently and are excited about needing others to do this journey with us. Our record & promotion will cost us $15,000 all-in, but any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated and valued by us! Thank you in advance for your support--we are so grateful for you and full of faith for how God might use this project. We are praying and believing it will be a blessing to you and your church!
Risks and challenges
