Just in case you still don't know what we do... Watch this:
This project is not just about making Bitter Ruin's next album, it's about elevating the album to the next level. A level where our music can shine as brightly as any professional recording. A level that will open new doors to Bitter Ruin, changing us from an unsigned band into an independent entity with a buzzing nervous system and the competitive production skills that control a creative heart, allowing it to pump the blood, our music, back into the organs that keep us alive - YOU! We want Bitter Ruin to be heard on an equal platform. We want to stand up next to the mainstream chart, but with something different, something real, and we hope you'd like to see this too?
Think Queen. Think Bowie. Think Bjork...Think Bitter Ruin?
You are the ones who will be able to say "We helped." "We were there." And we WANT your involvement. Please believe that we appreciate this involvement whether it be a pledge, donation or simply your support.
The plan: build a pro home studio and record our next album to a professional standard. We have always admired the production on mainstream albums; the instrumentation, the vastness, the quality of sound. BUT we feel that there's something equally special about those songs that have been recorded in a bedroom, and yet still make your heart beat faster than any overproduced no1 hit single. We know that some of the best albums we've ever heard were recorded in someone's garage, or wardrobe or special retreat. A place where the artist can choose to relax when they need or to energize when inspiration strikes. A place where the artist feels comfortable enough to try that new 'really weird song' that might just end up being the next Bohemian Rhapsody!
So we want to build a studio that will compete with mainstream quality, but in a place where we can take creative control. Home.
Where do you come in? Frustratingly, our forthcoming album has been waiting to be recorded for over a year now. We need your help to finish it. We're asking you to help us raise £20,000 or more in order to finish building our studio, to record the album (actually TWO albums), then professionally manufacture and promote it.
But why don't we just spend the money on hiring a good studio? Believe it or not, building our own studio is going to be cheaper than hiring one and most desirably it gives us TIME. We want to spend every waking hour of every day for the next two months making this album a perfect vision in our eyes. We don't want to feel restricted by a certain studio's facilities, engineer's capabilities or producer's passion. WE NEED TO SELF-PRODUCE THIS. We want this to be OUR album, to create a true representation of who we are! If you love what we've done so far and you love our live shows WE PROMISE YOU, THIS WILL BEAT IT.
We have crafted some beautiful "RUIN REWARDS" to suit our beautiful fans "The Ruined". These are the type of gifts and experiences that on most occasions money cannot buy!!! But we've tried to make them affordable and appealing to you. If you're interested to learn more about each reward please take the time to look at the blogs and vlogs, facebook and twitter page. Here's a sneak peek at the luxurious "LONDON LISTENING PARTY" Venue:

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to really push the band. A studio would be an incredible asset to add to the Bitter Ruin HQ that will allow us to make music more efficiently, more professionally and more creatively. We'll be able to bring new music to you faster and cheaper. This will allow the recording of all future albums to be less expensive meaning that we'll be able to pour more funds into things like tours, music videos, session musicians, special merchandise, costumes and album art.
We will for the first time be able to put money into a professional and extensive PR campaign.
Bitter Ruin has been fortunate enough to receive crucial help from many volunteers, and as much as we try to pay everyone, much of our business relies on their free time. Your pledges will enable us to start paying these people fairly.
Mostly, we will be able to make the album that has been scratching away at our innards for the last year. THIS PROJECT WILL FULFIL A LIFELONG DREAM.
Firstly we hope that you will find huge satisfaction in helping to fund this project, but you will also benefit by receiving more of our music, more of our art and some rewards that are absolutely exclusive to backers of this project. You are invited to join this community and will instantly be offered benefits and rewards that no one will ever have access to again. You will also share our benefits by seeing better concerts with more musicians, in better venues with better sound and lighting. You will hear our music come to life when recorded in better quality, and you have the chance to get up close and personal with us, like you never have before. We want to thank you!
We love you all, you know that right? Well, we do. We're very nervous. We hope this works.
Lots of love Ben & Georgia

EASY, all you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will sort out a separate payment that doesn't mean doubling up!

Risks and challenges
The huge risk is that we don't reach our goal. We hope you will help us with that. Other than that this is all stuff we've done before so unless something dramatic happens like another ash-cloud or something, there really aren't many risks!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
