About this project
Is a tale of a boy’s rite of passage on the road of life. Jit (protagonist)performs as the the feral boy in a circus sideshow. As the narrative unfolds you see the progression of the boy’s connection with himself and the failed interpersonal relationships that define him. He is led astray by false idols and is forced to leave the circus. He believes himself to be the ultimate betrayer and the tale becomes a requiem of his past, and a foretelling of a morally un-tethered future. Razorback is a film of overcoming obstacles and searching for hope at the end of the road.
About the Writer/Director
I originally created this story based on some of the experiences that made me who I am today. At the age of 16 growing up in Los Angeles I was confronted with a lot of choices that would had led me down a wrong path.I managed to gather some funds and moved away.Travelling and living abroad gave me the courage to break away from my environment, My experiences on the road have given me insight into my creative endeavors. Upon returning to Los Angeles I gradually put myself through film school. Razorback was slated to be my thesis project,Unfortunately the cost of a project of this scale proved to be out of reach. After graduation I have had the opportunity to redevelop my characters and story.
As a writer I have always been fascinated by the early part of the 20th century.I have embraced many facets of American history. I have spent years researching circus side shows, gypsies and The Great Depression. With your support you can help us get this project of the ground.
The bottom line; The crew and I would like the opportunity to make this movie. I have been working on Razorback for five years and It has been along and difficult journey, many hard working independent film makers are willing to help me make this happen. Upon completion we will be submitting the film to the major local and international film festivals. As Independent film makers we will be able to use this project to further our careers.
REWARDS FOR PLEDGES
If you pledge $25 or more please chose one of the prints of your choice. Print #1,print#2 or print #3. Before I print the art ,we will ask for print number upon reaching our goal. ,Thanks
Is a platform that provides an opportunity for an independent artist to raise funds for their projects. In order to receive our funds we will need to meet and or exceed our projected funding goal. Kickstarter will charge roughly a 10% transaction fee so we are asking the community to help us exceed our goal of $60,000.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON'T REACH OUR GOAL
Simply put, If we don't meet our goal will not be making the film.Pledges wont go through unless the goal has been reached,"The all or nothing" Motto...So please help us fund our film,Large or small every donation counts. On behalf of the crew and I thank you for your support.
WHEN WE REACH OUR GOAL THE KICKSTATER FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR:
We need to build a circus, track down specialty props and period wardrobe. We are allocating so much of our budget to these things because without the production design, this movie would not be the same...
Extras are important in a film, they provide ambiance in the foreground and background and we can't have an empty circus.
Insurance and workers comp: Movie sets are a hazardous environment, hot lights, cables, and many people moving around. We want to make sure we are covered in case of the unexpected, we need to play by the law and keep everyone safe. SAFETY FIRST!
Equipment: Camera rental and grip and lighting equipment (a lot of the equipment will be donated for use free of charge). The equipment is crucial because image and lighting can set the tone in the film.
Sound: Bad sound can ruin a scene. A lot of equipment will be donated for use free of charge.
The cast and crew: A lot of people will be donating their time on this project. We are taking people away from their jobs and family for 7 days,we need to pay them something. So when they return home they have a roof over their heads.
Lodging: We will be shooting in a remote area in Riverside county and all of our cast and crew live in Los Angeles. We have a tight shooting schedule and are working long hours,we need accommodations close to the site.
Food: 25 people 3 meals a day for 7 days.
If we exceed our goal the extra money will go towards Kickstarter transaction fees, shipping for rewards and marketing. We want to be at a film festival near you.
