Omote: Talked to Steve and it looks like we are close to that. He needs some editors looking at it closer though before we can commit to that timeline. We want to make sure it's as good as we can make it. ~ Tim
Any updates to report on this KS? How accurate is December 2017 looking for this to come out? Looking forward to this.
@Stephen - awesome, thank you :-)
Thanks so much to everyone who helped us fund! It was a great 7 days! Be on the lookout for a proper update in the coming days with a recap and what lies ahead for shipping, surveys, etc. Thanks again everyone! ~ Tim
@Sean, if the store bought add-ons are included, we may already be beyond $8K.
So... if you're like me and chose to go just the $10 level because you weren't into physical rewards *BUT* you already have everything from the $50 level (save for the new stuff from this Kickstarter), will I be able to find everything else in the Backer Kit stage as add-ons? Please? :)
Oh man $670 shy....
Mad Tinker, we can manage the digital versions of those books in that pledge level! I'll let Tim know. ~ Steve
@Stephen - thanks for getting back to me so quickly. To be honest they all sounded interested. I particularly liked the idea of digital versions of the Players Guide to Bergholt (sounds very useful having the information separated out) and the Deadly Environs adventure hooks.
@Mad -- No, it includes everything listed in the description there, and hopefully some more stretch rewards from this one though! What were you looking for in particular from the past one? ~ Tim
Loved reading your recounts of the dangers of Inzae.
Another question - does the $50 All digital level include any of the stretch goals from the previous kickstarter?
LOLOL I forgot the mage didn't fall, but rather jumped off the bridge. I do remember the rogue running pell mell back up the hill. I think Mac and I were trying to across the bridge to close the gate and keep the Jazrim from taking the bridge. It didn't work so well for us. Well for me. Mac survived didn't he?
And that my head is hanging on the belt of a god is good enough for me! And very much in tune with the whole tone of the world of Inzae/Bergholt! ~ Steve
LOL, yes that is almost like it happened. Yes, Steve's fighter attacked like a madman (no surprise there) and Mac was beside him the whole time - egging each other on. Steve's fighter did really well until one super swift deadly blow separated head from body. Mac character managed through pure luck to beat his way into a bridge tower. The Jazrim heaved Steve's fighter's head against the door a few times and tried busting in. Meanwhile the surviving fighter went upstairs and flung open a window and proceeded to pepper the Jazrim with arrows not realizing his compatriot as dead. Only when the head tumbled though the window to thump against the floorboards did Mac's Fighter decide to leave.
The mage ran and dove over the bridge into the chilly waters below. He decided to get out before hypothermia set in and crawled onto the muddy muddy bank and thence, sank knee deep in mud. Stuck or slogging so slowly as to not be moving at all. The Jazrim slammed a few arrows into him and the mage pretended to die. The bridge was afire at his point. The warm air kept the mage alive for some time. But grievously wounded and unable to move, by morning his sodden, mud caked corpse was all that was left. The thief broke early and ran back to camp. Waited a short time, took all the valuables and started to leave. But is was too late, the jazrim had found him and toyed with him for many hours until dawn found him just a bloody lump against the bowl of a long dead pine.
But one of the Firsmin was amused by the long antics and continued attempts at beating his fate. The mage, in glorious humor, died in a puddle of mud. Broonir, the Keeper of the Endless Keg, took pity upon the mage and lifted him from the puddle of mire. He mage now serves brew until the return of the Dragon where he will be consumed in fire and gnashing maws. Eljeer picked up the head of Steve's fighter and attached to his belt, a belt of heads stretching back to the beginning of man.
We an do it! I'm uploading copy for it now! Trollzah! ~ Steve
30 hours and only $79 to go to hit the "The Burning Firmament" Adventure Add-on!!
I was just pondering what characters I've lost in recent games in Inzae...in and around Bergholt. There was a fighter I lost on a bridge. We were hard pressed against a band of orcs...they have a special name in Inzae, Shazrim or some such...and the rest of the party was discombobulated. The mage had fallen off the bridge and was stuck in mud. The rogue had run away. Mac and I were holding the bridge together. But I can't remember how it happened but I managed to get in behind the orcs and I was wreaking havoc for about 4 rounds when I went down. They mutilated my character's body and lopped off his head and threw it to Mac to dissuade him. It didn't dissuade him and I'm pretty sure he died too. The mage got shot to death from the bridge (he was stuck in the mud) and the rogue fled! It was crazy fun, but crazy deadly! :) ~ Steve
See the Story board. Go and get a guy. He is the boss of mine. A newish mine. Easy job! Easy as plucking gold a gold coin stuck between the teeth of a dragon.
I've the same question as Mad Tinker Gnome. What is the adventure about, what level(s), page count?
Has there been any word on what the Bloody Pick of Varshlung is about? I am thinking of upgrading to the all digital level if it sounds interesting.
@Stephen, thanks for that. Also, I'm a digital only backer as shipping to Australia is usually horrendous. So if there are any plans on adding it to a digital only pledge that would be awesome :-)
@Mad Tinker -- No, By Shadow of Night is not on the sale. However, you can get it in one of the reward levels. Most everything else is in the sale, though and I would also hold off for an announcement tomorrow. Thanks! ~ Tim
Just backed. Am I able to use the 50% coupon off by Shadow of Night?
Thanks for the coupon. I just completed my order for the first two books in this series and the Verdant Range which looks interesting.
The magic thng got me thinking, Inzae was originally designed as an almost polar opposite of the paradigm in gaming at the time. So some of the first rules that went into the setting were; 1: treasure begets you nothing except treasure, ie. no experience. 2: All magic is unique and rare (The Heldentot from the Treklant series was the ONLY magic item in that entire adventure when first written and played - from Vakhund to Felsentheim) 3: Adventure tended to skew toward storyboard with many NPC actors. 4: Combat was more brutal with a crit die 5: magic use was
Thats up there with delivering a new pair of shoes to some paladin in the darkenfold hahaha
Yeah. Treasure. In Davis' game (Now we have amended this for the published versions) you are happy if you got 5 silver coins after killing an ogre! ~ Steve
Inzae specific treasure - hahahahhaha - ask Steve ahahhaa
Per the screen charts, Inzae specific treasure perhaps.
Hahahahaha sounds good. Don't forget Gottland ne bounty hunters satnite and Tyler mo muahahahahahahaha
Shane, I'll pull that guy out and we'll put him in one of the encounter areas! He will stand out because he's pre-ordered a castle and its keeper and is only waiting for the guide to take him there...but the guide never showed and pre-order went unfulfilled! hahaahah Really we'll put him in there somewhere! Whoever finds him gets a free Dr. Pepper from my convention stash! :) ~ Steve
Hmm....... Any reward for finding said lost little lamb?
hmmmm>>>> hmmmmm>>>>> scion of disgraced noble house has a price on his head?
Awesome. Thank you. Then I will wait until tomorrow to order the first two books in the series.
Brad, You did not. We were going to send out the 25% off coupon, but wanted you to be able to take advantage of the 50% off that is coming tomorrow morning. It should run through the day. So look to you inbox tomorrow and it should be there. After the sale, we'll go back to the 25%, but really wanted you to be able to take advantage of the 50.
LOLOL My poor maligned characters! He was human. That I know. I almost always play humans or dwarves. I want to say he was a knight. Davis actually created a backstory. Had something to do with a lost noble house. I didn't pay much attention as he was probably going to die anyway. hahahaah ~ Steve
Did I miss the Flash sale or the coupon? Haha. I am new to C&C so I backed the last Kickstarter for the PHB and have enjoyed going through it. I love adventures in cities and I am intrigued by this one. Congrats on making your funding. Anyone in the Los Angeles area that knows of a C&C group looking for newbies let me know. Thanks.
dc: babbles all the time
magic: decanter of endless stupidity
Sure thing Steve. just need Name, race, class, distinguishing characteristics, magic items of note.
Just so that you all know, I never actually made it to Bergholt. My first character died at the end of the first part of the Death in the Treklant (Vakhund). My second character died at a river somewhere. My third character died in the Village of Felsentheim (Death in the Treklant part 3). My fourth character was made up and headed to join the party in Bergholt when I missed a bunch of games. So he's still in the wilderness somewhere...when you guys are playing Bergholt, keep an eye out for him! :) ~ Steve
Frits, I've been talking some to Bill Webb over at Frog God Games. They have explored similar options. It might be possible. We had worked a deal out with Global Post, but then they or the PO raised their rates again and made the discount seem a bit silly. The whole thing seems a bit silly to me. Not sure why its so much cheaper to ship from Canada to the outside North America than from the US to outside North America. I normally blame Davis for these types of things. It just feels right. haha ~ Steve
P.S. Any chance this will appear here in Europe as POD via Lightning Source?
It is a troll house so standards and living conditions are slightly different
800.00 for buying a house? I am paying slightly less just to rent a simple apartment. Sigh:-)
Ok Frits, now I am trying to figure out how to get to Europe. Sadly, I would have to travel exactly how I did when 19. Some things never change. Sewer grates-r-me.
Shipping to Europe. yeah there really is no way to fix that. I did write a letter to the head of the EU asking to move Europe a little closer. Maybe shift Ireland over a bit. I've had response. I guess I could petition Congress to move closer to Europe. But hat would start an argument.
Here's the funny thing. If I can get to NYC or Boston, I can fly round trip to Europe for 100.00 on a supersaver flight. ME, my whole body and luggage !!! Now if I can only get to Boston. From here a flight is roughly 800.00. I could almost buy a house with that.
Drat. I participated on the previous one but shipping to Europe takes the fun out things.
Dinner? Did someone say Dinner?!!!? Trollzah!!!
Iol there is a similarity in your profile pics - are you trying to tell us something.... like you want a free dinner - trollzah garycon
