ABOUT THE PLAYERS GUIDE to AIHRDE
The Fifth Edition Players Guide to Aihrde is far more than an introductory book to Aihrde; it is a game book designed for 5th Edition players! This full color, hardcover book is presently set at 128 pages (though likely to go much longer). It is absolutely jam-packed with information to take your Fifth Edition Fantasy game to the next level, regardless of whether you adopt the campaign setting of Aihrde. We’re confident, however, that the world will win you over just as it has so many others…(scroll down for more details).
WHAT IS AIHRDE?
Aihrde is a living world of gods, peoples, of countries and realms, of wild and forgotten places. There are over 50 gods outlined for play, from the Val Eahrakun to the Austrien. A dozen peoples including dwarves, elves, men, halflings, gnomes, orcs, goblins, giants, trolls, dragons and more. Each of 30 plus realms are intimately detailed with history, government, economy, military, present rulers and other specific information.
Its vibrant mythology and unfolding history makes the World of Aihrde an unparalleled fantasy setting with a wealth of playable material! Rich in adventure hooks, Aihrde is like no other on the market today. It infuses character generation with an energy unique for its genre, and arms the game master with material that is both fixed and malleable.
When you look for a new campaign setting, you want a fully-supported, truly epic and detailed setting with dozens of adventure modules released and in production. You need a setting that includes ZERO metaplot, ZERO iconic characters to hog the limelight from your heroes. You want 10,000 YEARS of background, fully fleshed out cultures, dozens of races and custom class paths, and fearsome new approaches to magic... and you want to be able to use it in ANY 5e game.
Aihrde...it's got all the grit, mystery and epic scale you want from a campaign setting that you can make your own...and it's rearing to go for your 5e games.
THE PLAYERS GUIDE TO AIHRDE: A LOOK INSIDE
In the Players Guide we bring a complete write-up of the history and background of each of the races within the context of the world. No longer is your dwarf, elf, halfling, gnome or other character a generic fantasy stereotype; they are given a broad treatment that ties them directly to the weave of the world and the Arc of Time within. Each of these demi-humans offers new sub-races for your Fifth Edition game, as well as new class archetypes based on the cultures of these races. In addition, we present a brand new race: the goblin as a PC, with a special Eldritch Goblin (reborn) sub-race!
Iron Born: The dwarves of Aihrde are powerful creatures, favored by the All Father. Stout of heart, keen and determined. They are driven by the Andanuth, the oath of life to their forefathers made to the All Father long ago.
High Elves: Steeped in the magic of their own creation, the High Elves straddle the line between the mundane and the magical as warrior magi.
Twilight Elves: Corrupted during the years of the Winter’s Dark, these elves nevertheless stood against the tyranny of the Horned God, Unklar. Now they sit apart from their high elf cousins, dwelling deep in the forests of the Twilight Wood, working the mysterious magics of Utumno, the Dreaming God.
Other Elves: A variety of other elven sub-races are also offered. Choose from Wild Elves, Mist Elves, Aihrdian Wood Elves and more!
The Reborn: Goblins of the Red God’s making, who have shunned his path. They are reborn. Their powers are steeped in their own history and that of the world, they do not dabble in sorcery, but rather, are a fount of it.
Hugrin Dun: The gnomes are a stout people and worship the fallen goddess. With the strength of her in mind they have always stood the battering of the world. They are creatures who have mastered the primeval world and unleash it on those that oppose them.
Wolf Hounds: Halflings, called the Felon Noch by the Dwarves, who have been forced to live a life on the edge of the wild, hunted for many long years. Now they seek to mete out vengeance and death on all those who wronged them.
The Dragonmen of Kaath: the dragonborn of Aihrde are depraved creatures who once were men, but corrupted by sorcery and their worship of draconic gods.
Demi-humans are offered with rules particular to each of the five peoples, dwarves, elves (with a variety of elves covered), halflings, goblins and gnomes.
NEW CHARACTER CLASS OPTIONS
Not only will you get new sub-races in the Player’s Guide to Aihrde, but new archetypes, paths, oaths, colleges, domains, arcane traditions and more. All of these have a deep connection to the campaign setting, some to individual PC races and others to the guilds and orders of Aihrde, but can easily be translated to your 5e game of choice.
Barbarians—the Felon Noch: This barbarian path is tied to the halflings of Aihrde, or those raised among them. It provides a connection to the beasts of the earth as well as ranged weapon mastery and stealth to bolster the already fierce combat of the barbarian.
- Bards and Rogues – the Crna Ruk: Presented as a rogue archetype and bard college, the Crna Ruk are a guild of shadowy assassins in Aihrde, in the service of dark gods.
- Clerical Domains: Included are new takes on the creation and ice domains.
- Druid Circle – the Hugrin Dun: Tied to the gnomes, these are elemental druids with a deep connection to earth, air, water and fire that extends even to their wild shape.
- Fighters – the Heisen Fodt and Oraalau: The dwarven Heisen Fodt warriors stand fast against onslaughts and learn to use their weapons (including shields) to their maximum capabilities. The elven blade mages or Oraalau combine magic and swordplay in a unique and stylish way that makes them the dread of all they face.
- Monks – The Lothian Clerics: These monks are a secret monastic order dedicated to shielding the defenseless and providing aid and succor to those in need.
- • Paladins – The Confessor Knights and Defenders of the Flame: Tied to the power of the Dreaming Sea, the essence of the All Father himself, the Confessor Knights swear an oath to seek truth and punish sinners, while the Defenders of the Flame are dedicated to preventing the return of the Winter Dark.
- Rangers – The Watchers in the Woods: This guild of rangers are dedicated to standing aside their druidic brethren to protect the wilds against interlopers and those who would corrupt its beauty.
- Sorcerers – The Fiendish Bloodline: Some sorcerers carry demonic or diabolic blood in their veins. Not quite Tieflings, they nevertheless wield the powers of Hell and Hades in their magic.
- Warlocks – The Rune Mark: Presented both as a traditional warlock pact, and a full, expanded and brand new approach to warlock magic, the Rune Mark is able to craft the Language of Creation and wield the awesome power of rune magic.
- Wizards – The Paths of Umbra and White Order: Born of the dark days during the Winter Dark, these two arcane traditions are focused on unlocking the secrets of magical travel, knowledge and raw arcane empowerment.
NEW RULES FOR YOUR GAME
The Fifth Edition Players Guide to Aihrde offers far more than just demi-human classes, however. Within its pages you’ll find more spells, equipment, fast paced combat rules, as well as learn the secrets of rune magic, including the dreaded Blood Runes, those ancients magics that allow one to pass through time as a shadow. With the Blood Runes comes a discussion of time travel in game context.
There are rules for class skill checks—never worry about your Cleric not being proficient in religion or forgetting to take proficiency in survival for your Druid! Rules for critical misses, crushing blows, bonus languages literacy and more! The rules section culminates in rules for inspiration points—no longer do you simply have inspiration or not. You gain points that you can use for far more than just gaining advantage on a roll. This optional subsystem allows for a greater degree of drama and player agency within the context of the game.
OF THE COSMOS AND THE WORLD
Next up are the gods, with each major deity of the world outlined for the players use. Clerics dedicated to a given deity find that beyond their domain, they get additional cleric spells or special, albeit minor, powers to further enhance their character’s role in the game. For instance, those who worship Wenafar, the goddess of nature can gain the ability to wild shape as a druid once per long rest.
After getting familiar with the gods, you’ll see a complete primer on the setting. The world of Aihrde is laid out before you, including the peoples, kingdoms, geography and the guilds and orders of Aihrde.
From there, you’ll see appendices on the economy of Aihrde, and rules for bringing black powder firearms into your 5e games. Finally, for our SIEGE engine game fans, we haven’t forgotten you, either. The final appendix includes guidelines for adding elements of Fifth Edition Fantasy into your C&C games.
The Players Guide is a small resource with a massive amount of gaming material. It’s everything you need to get started in a rich setting that encompasses over 10,000 years of history, without being tied to metaplot or someone else’s epic hero NPCs. This world is dark, epic, gritty, dramatic, and best of all, it’s yours to make of it what you will!
WHAT IF I DON'T PLAY IN AIHRDE?
Aihrde is a giant setting and a world rich in detail. The Players Guide helps to bring the world alive at the table. But it stands by itself. Even those who do not play in the world of Aihrde can use this book and its basic classes and magic to bring a whole new feel to their own table or even their own world.
Published in 2015 The Codex of Aihrde is a fantasy campaign world setting book designed for use with any Role Playing Game. The Codex is jammed with 250 full color pages of content that explores the whole world, from its creation in the Days before Days, chronicling its long history, with a complete guide to its people, lands, places and gods. Read more about the Codex of Aihrde!
The world of Aihrde spins upon an earth-like axis of ancient civilizations where good and evil have struggled for countless years. It is a world that bears the markings of its past; where ancient evils slumber, stained with the power of eldritch wizardry; where gods dwell in bejeweled halls of wonderment, worshiped by men and women of all creeds; where dragons live in great dens of heaped treasure; where the new stands upon the ruins of the old in beds of ancient glory.

Risks and challenges
Creating color books is always a challenge. The print cost is noticeably higher as is creating and coloring the art. Creating a project that is both beautiful and useful but retains an affordable price tag, is always tough.
The advantage we have on the Players Guide to Aihde is that the manuscript is written and the 5th edition elements complete. It is ready to go to the editors and after that layout.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
