Cover Art Reveal, with Bonus Colophons
That, everybody, is an image that would not exist in the world if we had not invited it.
For the colophon design, we started with the Beltresin flag: a leaping dolphin under a crown with seven tines. Kate sent it in solid black and white and hollow-outline black and white. The book design people will weigh in later this month on which to use for what. I like them both. The solid version will shrink down better, though, for places like the spine of the cover.
Meanwhile, the interior illustrations are progressing from rough sketches to their finished forms.
For any of you who missed the last update post, adding the interior illustrations has caused our schedule to slip, but there's no new slippage so far. We are currently on track for June or July. I'm inclined to say we're looking at Bastille Day. And with some of the finished art in front of me, I'm glad Kate has taken the extra time to get it just right.
Thanks again, guys!
