About this project
We are medical volunteers in the rural village of Ollantaytambo, Peru. We would like to raise funds to continue our "Chocolatada" program, occuring weekly at the public health clinic.
Each Friday morning, dozens of indigenous women and children come in from the outlying communities for medical services; most arrive by foot, have traveled for two or three hours, and do not eat a daily breakfast meal. We have begun a weekly breakfast service (porridge and bread) for indigenous women and children who arrive for medical consultations. The program is in its first weeks and has been hugely successful.
We lack the funds to continue this service and wish to raise $750 to provide chocolate porridge (a traditional breakfast in rural Peru), bread, a banana, and one glass of milk to each person that comes into the clinic on Friday mornings. $750 will allow us to continue this program for an entire year. Your contribution of just $1 can allow us to serve breakfast to an additional 6 kids.
So make your donation, help us spread the word, and reward yourself with a glass of milk while you sit back and enjoy Hungry Eyes one more time, guilt free, and with the knowledge that 100% of donations received will go to buying milk and bananas for a new generation of hungry little tiny dancers.

PS because of amazing support, our initial goal has been surpassed! All additional funding will go towards the addition of fruit and whole grain bread to breakfasts (s/.20/wk); breakfasts twice a week (adding wednesdays, the second busiest day at the clinic).
