OUR GOALS FOR 'THE BETTY LOO PROJECT' CAMPAIGN:
The primary reason for Betty Loo Project to embark on this journey is to launch a small handmade fashion design company to the next level. If my goal is reached I will be able to increase production through more competitive buying power, as well as increasing my production space, which will allow me to optimize efficiency. I have worked exceptional hard over the last 3 years and focused on perfecting my '10,000’ + hours into my craft of leather making. My creation started as one single size of satchel and now my line has a diverse variety of sizes along with many other products available, all generated from being self taught. With this campaign I'm looking to increase the diversity of my line of handmade leather goods, work closely with a family run tannery, Horween Leather factory, and refine my production templates which are the back bone of my design. With the support on this project I know confidently that my goals will be achievable. In order for Betty Loo Project to have an inventory that will allow it to competitively break into the wholesale market it requires a large investment in leather to maintain the demand of truly amazing Betty Loo products. I will be purchasing my leather from Horween Leather factory a family run tannery based in the heart of Chicago. Their focus on quality leather and attention to detail is the best I've seen and as an independent business it feels good buying from another American family run company. I also have plans to add some 'big ticket' items to my Betty Loo line which will include a high end, and well thought out line of designer luggage.
Betty Loo strives to create every leather piece with love, care and respect to the craft of leather making. We uphold a high standard of quality handmade leather items that will last you a lifetime, while sharing the beauty of simplicity through our work. Every design portrays a classic uniqueness as we incorporate our very own subtle accents ensuring each handmade piece to be a true one of a kind statement.

Risks and challenges
In any business start up there will always be challenges, bumpy roads, set backs, and obstacles. When I started Betty Loo project I didn’t know how to sew more then a square piece of fabric let alone sew a leather satchel from a large hide of leather. With much determination, long days and even longer nights I taught myself to, sew, understand the element of design, and learned about leather productions and the tanning process all the while adjusting to the challenge of operating industrial machinery that can sew heavy duty leather.
Some set backs I have experienced thus far is sourcing leather that is not only of the highest quality but the consistency that I require to produce and push production of my satchels. My search and perseverance lead me to Horween leather a top quality tannery in the USA. My passion for the craft of leather inspires me to be constantly creating new designs and further learning how to refine my product. I am determined to bring this business to the next level and continually strive to create a quality heirloom product that you would be proud to pass down to your loved ones for generations to come.
I’ll make sure to keep you in the loop regarding your pledge and encourage any questions or concerns regarding your Betty Loo project handcrafted item. (Every single piece is made by me, and solely by me Betty Loo). If maintenance is required on your satchel, three, five, or even 10 years down the road I will gladly adhere to my standards. Thank you for checking out my campaign.
