Armed only with a pad of paper and a stick of charcoal, he walked on. On through the night, the day, the night, the day and the night. Through the rain, sleet, snow and wind he walked. Through thirst, hunger and fatigue he walked. Through blood, sweat and tears he walked.

And then he stopped. The Illustrator had arrived.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we wanted to take a moment to spotlight on Danny Morison, our superb artist. Danny has been my collaborator for the past 8 months, helping me to create this mysterious, dark and intriguing world that The Agents inhabit. He has come up with creative ideas that have imbued so much depth into the game, and I'm personally delighted that because of all of your warm and enthusiastic responses, he's getting the recognition for his work that he so deserves.

An excerpt from the upcoming art-book;

"For this project I tried to steer away from the general art style which usually dominates art in card games and make this a bit more unique. So everything was hand drawn, no digital painting, no dark palettes and an emphasis on colour. I wanted character rather than everyone in cloaks shrouded in shadow and blacks and greys." Danny Morison

And finally, I know it will make you smile to read a facebook update that Danny posted a few hours into the campaign (re-posted with his permission!)

Agent Dark Mechanic, we salute you.

As we enter day 3 of our campaign (and hit an unbelievable $50,000!!!) we also want to share with you below a few avatars that we've designed due to popular demand.

And stay tuned for some exciting Stretch Goal updates coming tomorrow to take you into the weekend...

Enjoy!

Stay alert,

Saar

The art is what originally attracted me to the project. It has kind of a mike mignola-esque feel to it. Great art all around!

I am a fan. The WH40k stuff on his DeviantArt page is what got me first. People compare him to Mignola but I honestly don't see it. Maybe there is a little Keith Giffen in there but to me Dan has a style that stands out on its own.

Does have sort of a desert punk style to the art.

I'm a fan. It has variety and character over the clean, crisp "perfection" of other "secret agent" art. This gives the game a chaotic sophistication with an independent vibe. Go get 'em Danny.

Well, good for him, glad to see new faces on the scene. Can't say I'm a fan of the work, but world needs more choices for art of this type with large companies like Marvel and DC dictating so much of this type or art.

I love the art style, it's what drew me to the game, and I think it has certainly played a big part in the success of the Kickstarter. I hope Danny does well in the future, he's obviously very talented.

Really hope Danny's career as an illustrator takes off from here.
Thanks for the updates Saar keep up the good work!

They say first impressions are the most important and it was the fantastic artwork that first drew me in. Part Tim Sale, part Mike Mignola, part Greg Rucka but still retaining it's own style. Awesome. It was that combined the gameplay that made me pledge.
