The Agents is a brand new strategic card game that introduces a unique ‘Double-edged cards’ mechanic into the undercover world of covert operations and espionage.
As the Agency shuts down, dismissed and disbanded Agents all around the world are trying to figure out what’s next. Left without a cause, they team up and turn against each other.
You must enlist and lead your own faction of highly skilled professionals into an uncertain territory of betrayal and deception. Show no mercy, reveal no secrets.
The Agents is a deceptively simple card game; easy to learn, set up and start playing, but underpinned by intricate decision-making gameplay. Players must join their Agents into Factions, assign Missions and take their opponents down, to gather intel and win the most points.
Featuring the captivating artwork of collaborator Danny Morison (aka Dark Mechanic), ‘The Agents’ will challenge your imagination and brain power as you plan, plot and scheme your way to victory.
The Agents gameplay is based on a unique, new mechanic we like to call ‘Double-edged Cards’. Each Agent card features a ‘command’ on one end of the card and ‘points’ on the other end. However, the direction in which you place the card will determine from which asset you benefit. If you choose to perform the command, one of your opponents will get the points. If you keep the points for yourself, an opponent gets to perform the command.
Throughout the game, you’ll need both commands and points to advance. Commands will allow you to manipulate Agents, control your Factions, and influence other players. But you’ll need points to buy more Agents and Missions. And ultimately, the player with the most points wins.
Deciding how to place each card will require strategic precision and calculated foresight, as you try to further your own goals, and prevent your opponents from reaching theirs.

Saar Shai (agent "Steel Storm") - Creator of The Agents, Saar is one of those quirky inventor types, who not only has outlandish ideas from his armchair but also gets off his butt and works really hard to make them a reality. From flexible screen interfaces, to ring device controllers, and from game-theory platforms to card games with a twist, Saar's mind comes up with weird and wonderful ideas all centered on making the 'user experience' as fun, rewarding and engaging as possible. With a background in intellectual property and advertising and a day job running a start-up, Saar is now turning his first love - gaming - into his full time passion.
Danny Morison (agent "Dark Mechanic") - Illustrator of The Agents, Danny was brought up on a diet of 80's cartoons, lots of Transformers and also an early fixation with dinosaurs, so he began drawing from a very early age. He loves science fiction and fantasy, and especially how you could create worlds and characters with just your hands and imagination. After leaving university with an Illustration degree under his belt, Danny since worked as a storyboarder, character designer, concept artist, illustrator and poster and flyer designer, but never gave up his initial love of science fiction and fantasy. His style is maybe a bit different to the industry standard but he hopes to one day be able to live off what he loves doing most - creating fantastical worlds, colorful illustrations and drawing really, really big robots!
We're on Kickstarter to raise the funds to produce and publish The Agents. So far, we've invested our own money in the game design, artwork, prototype printing and all other associated costs of getting the game created and tested. But now we need some help! We still need to complete some of the artwork for our expansion packs as well as some of the packaging art. And after that, we need to cover costs of the printing, packaging, shipping, stretch goals, KS exclusives and so on. With your support, we can make it happen!
We want to take a minute to assure you that we are confident that if we meet our target, we will be able to honor our commitment to produce and deliver The Agents. We’ve spent months planning the production of the game, choosing manufacturing and logistics partners and working out the minimum acceptable amount that we need to fulfill our promises to you. Whilst we are aware that Kickstarter, like life itself, comes with no guarantees, we just wanted to let *you* know that *we* know how much trust and goodwill comes with each and every backer’s pledge, and we don’t take that for granted. Thank you for your faith and thank you for your support.

Risks and challenges
Fortunately the risks involved in completing and fulfilling this project are minimal since the artwork is complete, the game is finished and we already have established a close personal relationship with our print house. Because they are local and small, we will be able to personally oversee the entire process. And because the game consists of standard sized playing cards and no fiddly bits and pieces, there shouldn't be any nasty surprises along the way.
Should any issue arise with the print and production of the cards or packaging, we will revert to working with another local printer who already produced our prototype cards for us, so we know that the quality and turnaround meets our exacting standards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
