About this project
Beacon of Hope is a turn-based strategy/puzzle game that requires players to tap into their intrinsic logic skills as they navigate through a futuristic neon hex grid. All while attempting to reclaim Hope, thus keeping the world powered and ridding it of the Corrosion menace! To be victorious in each level, players will need to complete their objective and surge the beacon with the perfect amount of voltage. Voltage is imperative in the Beacon of Hope, as a multitude of the character’s lives depend on it. Learning how to maintain and achieve the appropriate voltage while getting safely to the beacon is crucial to progress in the game.
We have been hard at work on this for over a year... but now, we need your help to finish it up and rescue Hope while ridding the world of the corrosion menace!

Beacon of Hope is a turn-based strategy/puzzle game that works in phases, first Volt, then Diodes, then Corrosion, and finally Triacs. All damage calculations occur at the beginning of a units phase. The game is unique in that it has a grid (that Volt and Corrosion move along) on top of a grid (that Diodes and Triacs move along). Volt gives off a +2 voltage to the spot She is on and a +1 to all adjacent tiles. While Corrosion gives off a -2 to the spot He is on and a -1 to all adjacent tiles. Diodes need to be adjacent to at least one tile that is a +1 or higher to avoid taking damage, and their purpose is to surge beacons which give off a +1 voltage to all adjacent tiles. Beacons need to be surged in most levels in order to complete the level. In addition, there are levels in which there is a tile that is partially lit up which indicates that you need to cause that tile to have the matching voltage level to win that level.
Also: Yes the entire map is eventually used throughout different parts of the game, sometimes more of it is used at one time, and sometimes you find yourself in a different area of it.

Beacon of Hope is set on a faraway world that is inhabited entirely by computers. The story begins with our computeristic world under attack by Corrosion who seem to be after Hope, who is currently powering the world! Without Hope, there is no power and the planet will die out from a power failure! So the Diodes who inhabit the planet call in Volt to help retrieve their power source and restore power to the planet. But what is Volt getting into? Can the Diodes be trusted? With plenty of twists and turns this is one story you will not want to miss!

Risks and challenges
So long as this project funds we will be able to release it. The primary challenges are going to be getting the game onto Steam, and if that were to fail for unforeseen reasons then we would send copies of the game to all of our backers and also likely release it on indiegamestand.com.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
