Bad dreams are no fun for anyone, at least they weren’t until this book came about. When my daughter began having bad dreams, I scoured the internet and library for books to help us, and found none. All the bad dream books were more likely to scare any child than help them. My goal with Goodbye Bad Dreams is to help children overcome, and yes, even enjoy their bad dreams! I believe I’ve done it with the story, but I need your help to fund an illustrator to make my words come to life. The story uses a method that I thought I came up with to help my daughter, but it turns out it is a proven method among child psychiatrists to help children with bad dreams.
Here is what one expert has to say: "Goodbye Bad Dreams is a story that will delight all children. As soon as you begin reading, you know you are being taken on many amazing journeys and each one a wonderful and exciting surprise. It is a story of hope and resiliency that challenges children in a creative way to cope with scary dreams, and a great resource for parents and counselors.” - Linda Diaz, LPC, Registered Play Therapist and Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist, and author of The Wounded Yellow Butterfly.
I am excited to put this fun book with beautiful illustrations into the hands of kids whose bad dreams keep them (and their parents) up at night.
I hope you will help fund this project simply because of a desire to help, or maybe because you believe in the cause and want to help children. Even if not, please check out the rewards. I tried to create rewards that would make great gifts for the kids in your life, or help you with your own business ventures.
Risks and challenges
I am new to Kickstarter, but not new to publishing. This will be my 5th published book, but the first for which I need an illustrator. As you can see from the cover photo here, I've found the perfect illustrator (ePublishingeXperts,) but I need your help to pay them what they deserve for this amazing work. I've set the funding goal as low as possible because I really want this project to happen. I would love to exceed the goal to pay for more than the basic illustrations, not to mention proof and printing costs, shipping, etc.
I expect to have completed books to send to everyone by the end of this year, but will know more definitely once I have hired and scheduled with the illustrator.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
