About this project
On the 27th of July, James Bowtell is due to set off on an attempt to become the first man to cross Europe by bike in under 45 days, in order to set a Guinness World Record.
Although James has experience of long distance cycling events, for example completing the Haute Route Pyrenees in 2013, the ‘Race Across Europe by Bike’ is by far his toughest challenge yet. He has assembled a team of recent graduates together to help him logistically plan and cover the challenge under the name Velo7.
As part of the challenge, a documentary has been planned and is in the process of being filmed, with much of James' preparation and lead up already captured. However, our stumbling block is down to the cost of hiring the amount of equipment needed for the en-route filming. We need at least £1500 to get the right amount of video and audio equipment to ensure that we can capture the event to a high enough standard.
Although we are grateful to our current sponsors of Halfords, Peugeot and Unilever for their incredible contribution. Unfortunately they have spent their allocated budget on the logistical complexity of the event so far.
We have two experienced young producers who are working together to film the entire challenge and edit the documentary.
Here is what they are capable of:

Risks and challenges
We have made a full risk assessment in conjunction with Unilever and some expert help. There are some considerable risks on the challenge, many of which there have been steps taken to mitigate or reduce before the challenge has started.
However rather than dwell on them, we have actively sought to figure out an escape plan from each scenario. Anything that doesn't go to plan will add to the piece's narrative!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
