Hey guys, I just want to reach out and say thank you so much for your support! I met with the manufacturers yesterday and everything is ready to go. We are sending the design to the tooling company this week! For those that don't know, the tools are 2 big metal slabs with the details of the mold imprinted inside of them.
This is a cool example that I found. (This is obviously not my mold see. example from rutlandplastics.com)
In very very short, in order to make plastic injected pieces, the two slabs are filled with a liquid plastic and slammed together at around 4 to 5 tons of force. It is then cooled and dropped out of the mold. This all happens in about 4 seconds. I thought it was pretty cool!
On another note, I have the new prototype now. I took a couple of pictures. This one is different from the video but it works exactly the same. This is what all of yours will look like varied by color.
Black on black...
Ok, so thanks again everyone! If anyone has any questions about anything please feel free to send me a message. Thanks again guys for all of the support. I am looking forward to July when I can start sending them out!
