UPDATE: I HAVE STARTED TO RECEIVE SOME ILLUSTRATIONS FROM PROSPECTIVE ARTISTS. 'BACKERS' FEEDBACK WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. :-)
I won't bore you with all the details, but if you're reading this then that means you've clicked past the original description and are somewhat interested. For this, I thank you.
My project is simple, about 3 years ago myself and my partner (Christine) welcomed a little ball of fur (HarleyQuinn) into our lives, giving us our first 'family'. Unfortunately that little ball of fur was hit by a car and was taken from us. HarleyQuinn meant the world to us both and believe it or not she taught me to be responsible. She has given us some memories that we will never forget and will treasure for the rest of our lives, but why should we be the only ones to benefit from her?
I aim to create a short story for children, based on HarleyQuinn's adventures in her short 9 months of life. The first story has already been written, and it explains how 'bathtime' can actually be fun and isn't something to be scared of. Maybe in the future I can create more stories using HarleyQuinn as the character in other adventures.
However this is where you guys come in, I can't draw........at all. The drawing of the cat in the main image was drawn by Christine but took a painstaking 2 weeks. So we need an illustrator, and I need funding. Fortunately, there is a small Art College based in my city and with some funding I will approach a few student illustrators to create the final elements of HarleyQuinn.
This is not intended to be a huge project - I plan to produce these books to be given to schools in the area.
Risks and challenges
Plan of Action:
Create Story : Complete
Find Illustrator : Incomplete
Self Publish the Books : Incomplete
The project is at a stage where I now only need funding to hire an illustrator and publish the books. Like I said above this isn't a huge project, so hopefully there won't be too many setbacks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
