@Matt - Yep, the latest update can be found here:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/667392092/slim-pack-minimal-modular-modern-backpack/posts/1842286
The info that pertains to your Combo tier pledge is:
"For the Slim Packs, we’ve now worked through the First Mover and most of the Early Adopter reward levels for all colors except Charcoal/Orange. As described in this update, the combo tiers (Wallet + Backpack and 2x Backpack) are currently being fulfilled as we get new inventory each week. We should be complete with those in 3-4 weeks and move on to Trendsetters."

@Rose - Haha, yes he likes "helping".
@Jeff - Yep, the quality of some things is much better if the right tools are used ;)

      What!? It's not hand stitched!!?!?!

I kid, best of luck working through the kinks.

@Rory - Thanks so much! I appreciate it!
@Denilson - Yes, I was happy about the milestone of some being completed... now to just get them in your hands!
@Jeff - Glad you like the strap keeper. Interesting question- Yes, what I was mentioning was that the initial batch was cut by hand. That was before we had the dies made just to make sure everything came together smoothly. Specifically, most all of the Charcoal ones done so far and a good portion of the Black/Orange were as well. So first movers with those colors will most likely have been hand cut. But the patterns didn't actually change from that point and all of the packs are hand made, with the assistance of sewing machines of course :)

Thank you for the update Dave. I really appreciate all of the thought and work you have put into this and your other projects. I have no doubt that the backpack will be well worth the wait. I hope you were able to relax a little bit during the holidays.

Congratulations on your work and on the transparency of your progress! Roadblocks happen, unexpected problems and delays happen, and you showed how well you are handling those, and how well you are communicating with the backers. Again, congrats! And keep up the good work!

      Hey Dave,

Sorry to hear of your frustrations, but glad to hear everything seems to be on track. Thank you again for your attention to detail as that strap keeper is going to really be appreciated. Also, I know you had mentioned that some of the packs were literally being handmade. I was wondering if first movers will be getting those or not? I really like the idea of my pack being one that received some extra TLC ;)

@Ben - Thanks for the kind words! As I described in this post...
      http://www.slimfoldwallet.com/blogs/blog/slim-pack-behind-the-scenes-components
the packs are being made in pieces and then assembled. It's still hard to get a handle on how many they're producing a week. I've got a meeting with the sewing house tomorrow and will definitely ask again. Hopefully that'll give me a better idea about how to project the other reward tiers.
@Bo - I really appreciate it! I think you'll like the pack once you get it :)

Relax, Dave. We're still your biggest fans. I'm glad you took some time with your family and thank you for sharing your behind-the-scene story. We really appreciate your design, care, quality and process. Keep up the good work and look forward to getting my super pack with your wife's TLC! Happy New Year 2017!

Hi Dave - Thank you so much for the updates and I'm so sorry you've had to deal with shipping issues. I run my own company so I feel your pain! :) Just curious; any idea when the "trendsetter" reward slim packs will ship? I know all the others have to ship first - I was just wondering if you had a decent timeframe for those. I seriously cannot wait to get mine! Thanks and keep up the great work!

@Jennifer - Sorry, mixed up the names in the responses! This was meant for you:
You're first in line for a new one off the production line from SF as they're completed. Meanwhile, I need to finalize my international shipping strategy. Once I have those two bits of info nailed down I'll have a better idea. Before I ship anything, I'll provide notice again and you'll have a chance to revise your address based what that ship date is... but it's best to wait until that ship date is more firm so you can then have the best estimate of arrival date and plan accordingly.
@Jessica - Thanks for your understanding! Sure, I'm happy to provide the updates. I only wish it were always good news. You'll certainly be able to use the Slim Pack in Seattle!
@EnricoC - Agreed, this was the worst time to be kicking off a new shipping project at a new fulfillment house!

    14. Dave Zuverink 3-time creator on

@Bret - Yeah, it was pretty frustrating especially since I had really pushed to get everything done and in the warehouse in what should have been plenty of time to ship. But I knew what I was signing up for!

Hi Dave, I totally understand the frustration with some forwarding companies particularly at Christmas. However are you able to tell me when the Slimpack will ship to international backers. I'm actually a first mover backer from Australia and was just wondering how long you expect the delay to be as I could be moving jobs and the forwarding address may change. Pls advise.

      Thx

      Jennifer

Hi Dave, pretty sure everyone had trouble during Christmas period waiting to receive or ship parcels(myself in primis)so thanks for the update and keep doing your great job.

Thank you again for continuing to give us such detailed and honest updates! You really shouldn't feel bad at all for the delays, it's the holidays and 100% understandable and these problems are out of your control. Super excited to get my hands on this backpack soon, I'm moving to Seattle this week and I know the waterproof-ness is going to be a lifesaver for the constant rain. Crossing my fingers that I'm one of those lucky early adopters!

Sounds extremely frustrating. Thanks for the update! Good Luck with the last push!
